Re: 84th Ohio FFA Convention
Thank you for registering for the 84th Ohio FFA convention. Enclosed are some final details to
help with your trip to Columbus. The Ohio FFA officers have been working for the past several
months to provide the FFA members with a memorable experience at this year’s convention.
Registration materials can be picked-up in the central lobby of the Celeste Center. Registration
hours are 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 3, 2012; and 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. on Friday,
May 4, 2012.
Entrance buttons must be worn at all times. The Ohio Highway State Patrol will be enforcing
that all individuals in attendance must be wearing admission buttons at all times. Furthermore,
FFA members must wear FFA member buttons and adults/guests must wear adult buttons.
Unfortunately, there has been an increased abuse of this policy in recent years that results in a
loss of revenue for the association, not to mention the ethical lesson being witnessed by
students. Advisors may bring extra FFA members or guests and purchase an admission badge
and program for $20.00/member, $5.00/advisors/parents/chaperones/other guests at the
If you ordered a parking pass when registering online by April 13th, a parking pass token will be
mailed on Friday, April 20th. Upon entering the Ohio Expo Center from 17th Avenue, exchange
your parking pass token for a three-day parking pass from the Central Parking employee in one
of the booths. This pass will allow you to enter and exit the Ohio Expo Center grounds on an
unlimited basis. This pass, as well as single admission parking passes, can be purchased on-
site at one of the Central Parking booths (cash only accepted at booths). As a reminder, school
buses are admitted free.
State FFA Degree Candidates
All candidates for the State FFA Degree must wear official dress to appear on the convention
stage. Candidates should be in their seats (seating charts will be enclosed in your registration
packets) by 5:30 P.M. on Friday, May 4, 2012. Candidates not in attendance will have their
State FFA Degrees mailed to their home school in June/July.
Ohio FFA Officer Candidates
State President Jessica Shanahan will be announcing the FFA members that have been slated
on the ballot at the conclusion of the First Session. The election of officers will take place
immediately thereafter as we transition to the Business Session. There will be reserved seats
for all delegates during the Business Session.
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier
leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
All Gold medal Secretaries, Treasurers, and Reporters will receive their medal on stage and
must wear official dress. Award recipients should be in their seats (seating charts will be
enclosed in your registration packets) by 2:45 PM on Friday, May 4, 2012.
Workshops will be offered to FFA members, FFA advisors, and guests throughout the
convention. Admission to workshops is included with the purchase of an individual registration,
thanks in part to the Ohio FFA Alumni Affiliates. Seating is limited and will be on a first-come,
first-serve basis. Please refer to your convention program for the date, time, and location of the

FFA Camp Muskingum OASIS
Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum would like to invite you and your students to come and experience
the Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum Entertainment Oasis at this years State FFA Convention. The
FFA Camp activities will be happening at the outside pavilion next to the south end of the
Celeste Center. We hope that you and your students will come by and see us at the New Ohio
FFA Camp Muskingum Entertainment OASIS! The FFA Camp OASIS will be open from 11:00
am – 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 3rd and 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, May 4th.
Concession trailers will be available throughout the convention near the Celeste Center.
Band and Chorus
Practice for both Band and Chorus will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012. This year the
Band and Chorus will be playing on Friday only. It is imperative that all Band and Chorus
members stay for the duration of the Friday convention performances.
Personal Belongings in Vehicles
Please make sure you do not leave personal belongings, ie. money, ipods, ipads, cell phones,
etc. in vehicles during convention as there have been recent break-ins of vehicles on the state
fairgrounds during large events/conventions.
