Subj:   WARREN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL FALL MARKSMANSHIP
        COMPETITION

Encl:   (1)   Meet schedule for each team to identify their
              first, second, and third choice for firing
              times

1. On 8 September 2012 the Warren Central High School Navy
Junior ROTC unit will host an air rifle competition. The
competition will be limited to the .177 caliber “Sporter
class” air rifle. Competition will begin at 0800. The
awards ceremony will be tentatively scheduled for 1330
(but, will be based on team participation for the meet).
Teams do not have to remain for the awards ceremony, but
they are encouraged to do so. I request all teams arrive
and check in thirty minutes prior to their scheduled time
to begin firing.

2. The teams will be assigned four firing points and will
fire as a team against three other teams. Each team should
bring all the team equipment for their firing points. One
spotter/coach will be allowed per team. Teams are required
to bring their own pellets. Warren Central will provide
targets upon check in. Teams are required to provide
security for their weapons during the match. There are no
secure facilities in the range area.

3. The entry fee is $30 per team. Please make checks
payable to Warren Central Navy Junior ROTC. Units should
forward entry fees to arrive NLT 4 September 2012 unless
you have communicated with Major Holder prior to the meet
to make other arrangements. I must know how many teams you
are bringing to the competition; send me the registration
form, an e-mail or call me. A concession stand will be
provided near the gym. Students and staff will be able to
purchase the usual concession fare of hotdogs, chips,
drinks, candy bars, and coffee. I hope to field a minimum
of 12 teams for this meet.

4. Trophies will be given for the top three teams in the
veteran competitor division. In addition, trophies will be
given for the top three tyro teams. To qualify as a tyro
team, the team must be composed entirely of first year
shooters. Medals will be awarded for the high scorer in
each position in the veteran division and for the high
scorer in each position for the tyro division. Medals will
also be awarded for the top score in the veteran and tyro
division. There will be a shootout at the end composed of
one shooter from each team (Captain’s choice) and medals
will be awarded for the top five from the shootout.

     I understand that these are requests for time slots
and the Senior Naval Science Instructor at Warren Central
High School will do his best to schedule me for a time I
prefer, but if there are conflicts, he will place me as
near to my requested time as possible.

Junior ROTC Unit, Warren Central High School, 1000 Highway
27, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
