 GREG THOMAS TO HELP KICK OFF 2010 CENSUS
 IN CEREMONY TO OPEN ANDERSON OFFICE
WHAT: Greg Thomas, district director for the Third Congressional District, representing U.S. Rep.
Gresham Barrett, and other dignitaries will formally kick off the 2010 Census in Anderson at a ribbon-
cutting ceremony for the Anderson Local Census Office. Kingdom Vision Church of Starr will
provide music.

WHEN: Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at 1 p.m. Ribbon-cutting ceremony, reception and office tour
scheduled at end of 1-hour program.

WHERE: 1504 N. Fant St., near Anderson Medical Center

WHO: Mr. Thomas will deliver keynote remarks; Jess Avina, assistant regional census manager,
U.S. Census Bureau, will speak. Edith Childs, the Greenwood County Council member who gained
national fame with her cry of “Fired Up! Ready to Go!,” will be among the special guests. The S.C.
Census Quilt, by Aiken artist Jackie Hill, also will be on display.
