CARMEL COLLEGE A CATHOLIC ACADEMY JOB DESCRIPTION POST TITLE : ICT TECHNICIAN – POST TWO LEVEL 3 GRADE : GRADE K REPORTING RELATIONSHIP ICT MANAGER JOB PURPOSE : To support the ICT Manager in achieving the most effective use of ICT resources in pursuit of the College’s aims and objectives. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES To support the ICT Manager by taking a level of responsibility for the management of the college ICT network including the installation, maintenance and upgrade of all new hardware. Provide support and repair services to ICT users, making effective use of the school’s Online ICT Helpdesk system to respond to support requests and maintaining records of diagnosis and resolution. To manage the provision of internet access with the schools internet service provider (ISP) and ensuring unwanted material is filtered via the filtering systems in place at all times Ensure that adequate stocks of printer consumables are available and to advise the Network Manager of any short falls To liaise with outside agencies, in particular ITSS, as and when appropriate To support the delivery of whole College ICT training and deliver in house training sessions as required. To provide audio/visual support for the College using projectors and Interactive whiteboards and associated hardware. Design, develop and create graphic designs for Carmel publications Support teachers in the delivery of specialist subjects eg computer animation, multi media presentations as required by staff. To support Carmel staff in the production of events… eg record events, create DVDs of the events and use of specialist software, for example Adobe Premier To liaise with staff in the installation and deployment of specialist curriculum software and store such media safely. To carry out other relevant duties which may be requested commensurate with the grade of the post. In addition the Postholder is required to support for the College in the following ways:- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person. Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop. Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the College. Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals, in liaison with the teacher, to support achievement and progress of pupils. Attend and participate in regular meetings. Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required. Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others. 1.
