POSITION:    Customer Service Representative - Museum

DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation

LOCATION: Annandale National Historic Site

POSTING #: HR 23.12

STATUS: Permanent Part Time (up to 12 hours per week)

GRADE: C

REPORTS TO: Museum Curator

POSTING PERIOD: August 8 to August 22, 2012

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Responsible for providing customer service to the community, and administrative functions for
the Museum.

EDUCATION:
   Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

QUALIFICATIONS:
   Demonstrate ability to work independently:
   Knowledge and experience with Class point-of-sale and Microsoft office computer
     applications;

      experience in providing tourist information services
      Exceptional communication skills, including experience dealing with staff, public,
       volunteers
      Knowledge and experience in handling cash, debt/credit transactions
      Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends.
      CPR and Standard First Aid
      WHMIS
      AED Certification considered an asset
      General knowledge of local history and the specific history of Annandale N.H.S
       considered an asset.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
   Open and close museum facility.
   Provide introductory tours of museum.
   Provide visitor/tourist information services.
   Receive admissions within the Class point of sale system.
   Generate necessary reports and deposits under point of sale.
   Aware of safe work practices relating to job responsibilities and have basic
     understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act as it relates to the work
     environment.
   Adheres to all policies and procedures for the Town.
   Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
