RE: Proof of Certified Mailing for Processing Mechanic, Storage, Abandon, Possessory,
Landlord, and Repossession Paperwork
It was brought to the bureau’s attention just today that the Post Office offers a “Notice of Sale
and Claim of Lien”. This mailer is a certified post card type mailer. It is available from “One
Form Certified Mailers” at 1-800-272-2712. Attached is a copy of the notice.
Any business or appropriate individual claiming a mechanic, storage, abandons, possessory,
landlord, or repossession lien and needing to send a notice to the owner and/or lien holder may
use this mailer.
The vehicle information, name of the business or individual claiming lien, amount due, date,
time and place of the sale must be listed on the mailer the same as if in a letter.
There may not be many of these type of notices used within the next few months or maybe ever,
however, if you do see one, the bureau will accept this as proof of mailing notice.
Thank you for your cooperation.
