Lakeshore Begins Physician Recruitment Strategy Town Council has approved the development of a Health Care/Physician Recruitment strategy and the creation of a Council appointed Health Care Advisory Committee. The Town of Lakeshore is looking for interested citizens and health care service professionals to join the committee. Together they will assist in clarifying the terms of reference for a health care recruitment strategy, conduct an accurate inventory of health care assets and develop a strategy to aggressively pursue a Physician recruitment program in conjunction with our partners. Health Care Recruitment and Retention Advisory Committee (2007) MANDATE To be proactive in the recruitment and retention of health professionals for the Town of Lakeshore beginning with the needed compliment of Family/General Practitioners as a priority. To also recruit and retain other health care professionals as the need is identified. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Town of Lakeshore Health Care Recruitment and Retention Advisory Committee will, as an appointed committee attain by Council: Work with the County of Essex Physician Recruitment Coordinator to increase activities and promotions within and for the Town of Lakeshore. Work with Planning Services to develop a comprehensive Health Care Needs/Development Master Plan. Research and submit, subject to Council approval applications for Community Health Care Team projects. Research and submit, subject to Council approval a proposal for a “Turn Key” Health Care Centre(s) within the Town of Lakeshore. Develop a Town-wide cohesive strategy that addresses current recruitment and retention needs and maintains the Town’s UAP (under serviced Program) status with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
