RE: MyPyramid, Resource Guide
(for use with county fair foods judges, 4-H foods project members,
Spring is quickly approaching and county fairs will soon be here! This
brings 4-H projects to mind. The 4-H Food and Nutrition project is one
of the projects with the highest number of participants.
As most of us know, the USDA Food Guide Pyramid was recently
changed to MyPyramid. As with any new change, there are always
questions as to how this newest guide is different from the old one?
There is a lot of information out there about the newest dietary changes
but unless a person has computer access, they may have missed some of
The Extension Nutrition 4-Health Committee received requests from
some of you asking for a resource guide about the new dietary changes
that could be used as an enclosure along with county fair food judge’s
letters, 4-H food project member materials, etc.
Enclosed is a reference sheet entitled MyPyramid, The Newest Food
Guide! Please consider making copies of this sheet and distributing
them to the 4-H Directors/Program Coordinators for their use with
members and judges. If you have further questions, please contact one
