myCNM is a web-based communicaton tool designed for students, faculty, and staff to
communicate with each other. Through an assigned CNM ID number, a computer user account
is generated at CNM for each enrolled student, faculty or staff member that requires a unique
15 character password phrase in order to be used. Users can gain access to use Internet and
can make use an online-automated registration process, an integrated E-mail, calendar,
announcement , personalized pages software application system. When you complete the MS
Windows Log in the following window displays. As you follow the prompt to the right of each
window you should be able navigate myCNM quite easily.
On the CNM home page, click on the

To access a course file from myCNM,
Click on the My Course option from
the menu tabs to arrive at the courses
you are attending for the term to make
Select the term from Course Schedule
Scroll down the list that says Courses I
am Attending, and click on the course
you want to look at, such as
COMPUTER BASICS, INTRO TO
On this page you can bring up an Email
window for the course instructor by
clicking on the Email address. (See the
window after the next one.)
Listed under the Course Tools on the
left hand side of the screen are the
options available to use such as
Announcements, Files, and E-Mail.

Now you are ready to use the E-mail component of the myCNM application software If you
opted to send your first E-mail to the instructor using the Course home page, go to the next
window for instructions. In this window you will select the E-mail option from the Course Tools
and get familiar with the windows and dialog boxes you will be using
To the right of the Course Tools
menu is the listing for the members
of the class. When a member’s box
is checked, the software will make
preparations at the system level to
make sure that member receives
Once a member’s box is checked,
continue by selecting or clicking on
the Send E-mail button.
The Compose E-mail window
opens on the screen.
Please note that the E-mail address
a recipient will not need to be filled
in, if the box for that recipient was
previously checked. The E-mail
address for that individual must be
supplied if not.
Complete the windows for the
subject and message, and check the
box for saving a copy to the Sent

Click on the Browse option to get list of
the hardware devices to find the device
label for the thumb drive for the file you
want to attach.
Thumb drive will be listed here. Window 9:
The My Computer option must be
selected to display the list what
hardware devices are available.
Open the thumb drive to find the file you
want to attach by clicking on its

Browse window when you return
to the Compose E-mail, attach
Click on the Attach button go to
the next window frame which will
show what the software
application will do next..

allows you to remove the file if you

The Compose E-mail window
display the file name just to the
right of Attachments: just below
the message box
Recheck that the Subject window
and the ‘Save a copy to the “Sent”
folder’ box are checked.
You may check the box for and
‘Request Read Receipt’.
Click on the Send button.
The message sent E-mail
window should open. And a
message about sending the
message to the intended
recipient(s) should display.
Congratulations, you have
successfully sent an E-mail
with an attachment
Close the window by clicking
on the OK button. You are
