									PRIDE Academic Re-Teach
Students participating in academic
   re-teach activities will do the
            following…
STUDENT DIRECTIONS
• Step 1: Obtain your grade printout, either by
    Power School or teacher.
• Step 2: Use green highlighter to highlight all of
the assignments with a passing grade.
• STEP 3: Use the pink highlighter to highlight all
    of your missing assignments.
• Step 4: Use the blue highlighter to highlight all
    of your failing assignments.
A LITTLE MATH:
1. What is the ratio of your passing assignments
     to your failing assignments?
2. What is your ratio of your missing assignments
     to your failing assignments?
3. Create a pie chart showing your number of
     missing ,failing, and passing assignments.
4. Can you infer from the data why your grade
     report demonstrates these overall grades?
Setting and Achieving Goals
How to set goals:
1. First you must define the goal. When you keep
doing the same thing the same way, you will
always get the same result. So......
2. MOTIVATE yourself. Consider the possible
blocks and the way you can deal with them to
   change them.
3. There is a right way and a wrong way to set
   goals!
IDEAS FOR SETTING GOALS

• DEFINE your goal. What do you want
  to achieve?
• Outline the steps you will need to
  achieve it.
• Consider possible blocks and ways of
  dealing with them.
• SET DEADLINES.
IN ORDER FOR SOMETHING TO
BE A GOAL:
1. It has to be important to you!
2. It has to be within your power to make it
   happen through your own actions.
3. It has to be something you have a
   reasonable chance of achieving.
4. It must be clearly defined and have a
   specific PLAN OF ACTION.
GOALS: So who cares?
• Hopefully you do.
• Get your own direction through setting
  YOUR OWN goals.
• Positive, personal focus make your goals
easier to accomplish and the other kind of
  direction (POOR CHOICES..), don't.
DISCUSSION Questions
1. Do you ever set goals for yourself?
2. What are some goals you have right now (Short term?
     Long term?)
3. AGREE/DISAGREE? It is better to set lower goals than
to risk failure by setting higher ones?
4. What is the difference between a wish and a goal?
5. How will you decide what your goals are? Why are you
here in the PRIDE re-teaching class?
6. Is it ever ok to take risks? What kinds of risks are ok ?
     What kind are not?

HELP YOU DECIDE WHAT

     this semester.
