                                   INTERNET ASSIGNMENT
Purpose: This assignment will have you sign on and explore the World Wide Web using Search
         Engines. You will search, find, and print material concerning different subjects.
 For this assignment you will:
 List Web locations to research topics on the Internet
 Print Web site material concerning these topics.
    1. After you have logged into the Computer Lab, check in with the Computer Lab Assistants and
       be assigned to a personal computer.
    2. Connect to the Internet using your preferred Web browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer).
    3. On the browser’s Web address textbox, replace the existing URL with a Web search engine
       address. Google and Yahoo are popular search engines; however, your instructor may suggest
       a specific search engine for this activity.

Exploring the Internet
Your assignment will be to find some Web sites that you may use for research. List two different Web
locations you might access to research the following topics. Write the full Uniform Resource Locator
(URL) address for each site.

Locate and print the home page of any three of these Web sites. The three Web printouts must
be attached to this assignment. To save paper you may copy and paste a screen print of the
home page to a Word document and then print the Word document. On the URLs you have
listed above, circle/highlight the three you have chosen to print out.
If you are working in the computer lab at Mt. Sac, remember to exit any application when you
are finished with your assignment. Also, don’t forget to remove your diskette before leaving.
1. Fill in your name on the Cover sheet.
2. Fill in your name and the date turned in on the attached grade sheet.
3. Staple your documents with these three sheets, placing your documents right before the
    grading sheet.
4. Place your sheets in this order:
    a. Filled out Cover sheet
    b. Assignment Instructions (This sheet)
    c. Your documents Your three web-site printouts)
    d. Filled out Grading sheet
