Vacancy - Clerk to Guarlford Parish Council
Guarlford Parish Council has a vacancy for a Clerk to succeed Mr Michael Skinner, who
is retiring after many years’ service in this capacity.
The Council invites applications and expressions of interest from candidates and
potential candidates with appropriate administrative experience. Such experience might
be within the field of local government or public service, or it might be in another
professional or a business field.
Candidates would be expected to have a Broadband Internet connection, a computer,
and an up-to-date version of Microsoft Office.
The Clerk is responsible for,
the administration of the affairs of the Council;
advising the Council on policy matters;
guiding the Chairman on procedural matters;
and ensuring that Council decisions are made after due deliberation which is
conducted according to the relevant rules, regulations and procedures.
All of this should be in conformity with the current guidelines issued by the National
Association of Local Councils.
The post entails an average of four hours’ work a week and remuneration is currently
£8.34 an hour.
