Keeping a notebook in CAT is a requirement. Notebooks should be of the paper
report folder variety or a three ring binder. It will be necessary for students to be able to
add or remove paper from the notebook. The notebook is to be dedicated to the computer
class and not used in conjunction with any other class. Students should keep all
handouts, class notes, review questions, and all graded work returned to them including
news articles and programs. Students should also set aside the first page of the notebook
as a grade record sheet. All grades should be listed on this page and should reflect both
points earned and points possible. All entries in the notebook should be in chronological
order. Where applicable documents may be kept electronically.
There will be two notebook checks per grading period. The first will occur about
mid point during the grading period and the last will occur at the end of the grading
period. Other random checks may be implemented as needed. Notebook grades will be
based on the content and organization of the notebooks. Scheduled mid and end of
grading period checks will count 50 points each.
