FACULTY POSITIONS

Associate Professor and Assistant Director, Teaching Resource Center, University of Virginia 2009-present
    Workshops and Consultations
    Facilitate departmental and university-wide workshops on a variety of teaching topics. Consult with
    faculty and graduate students about teaching, learning, and professional development.
    Program Administration
    Develop and direct the Excellence in Diversity Program that supports new and diverse tenure-track faculty
    during their first year at the University of Virginia. Responsibilities include securing university funding,
    planning, scheduling and facilitating retreat, workshops, panel discussions, and meetings; selecting
    fellows, choosing and coaching consultants, creating on-line mentoring resources, and conducting on-
    going program assessment.
    Awards Administration
    Manage Seven Society Fellowship for Superb Graduate Teaching, Dr. Frank Finger Fellowship, and Class
    of 1985 Fellowship. Responsibilities include overseeing an undergraduate coordinator, soliciting
    nominations from undergraduate students, chairing selection committee, and hosting an awards banquet.
    Teaching
    Courses taught in the German Department (cross listed Comparative Literature, English, Women’s
    Studies, Religious Studies): Critical Approaches to Young Adult and Children’s Literature, 19th Century
    British and American Children’s Literature, Spiritual Journeys in Young Adult Literature.

Visiting Professor, Technische Universität Dresden, Germany, Summer 2008-present
    Consult with senior administrators on supporting teaching and faculty development, facilitate workshops,
    coach faculty and Ph.D. students.
