GTA has a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Budget Analyst 2 to join the Chief
Administrative Office. The Budget Services Office is responsible for GTA’s budget and all
expenditure controls.

Job Responsibilities include:
   Monitors assigned portions of GTA’s overall annual operating budget. Develops budget
     revisions and supporting schedules and documents.
   Provides technical assistance and customer service regarding complex budget issues to GTA’s
     managers.
   Prepares, analyzes, and monitors budgets for assigned large, complex divisions/offices within
     GTA. Identifies significant variances, notifies appropriate personnel, and recommends
     appropriate solutions.
   Collaborates with appropriate internal and external personnel for long and short range
     planning based on GTA’s overall budget plan.
   Reviews and monitors expenditures, including personal services expenditures. Performs
     expenditure analyses and personal services projections for assigned large, complex
     divisions/offices and large, complex projects. Ensures that programs and projects operate
     within planned funding levels.
   Identifies areas in which additional resources may be needed. Researches, compiles
     information, and provides recommendations on funding solutions.
   Gathers, analyzes, and interprets information related to expenditure control and cost analysis;
     provides related recommendations.
   Monitors revenue; researches and prepares revenue projections.
   Drafts policies and procedures related to budget and financial matters for GTA.
   Prepares comprehensive and detailed reports relating to the preparation and submission of
     budgets, budget revisions, expenditure control, etc.
   Assists in preparing the statutorily required annual state IT Expenditure report.

Minimum Qualifications:
  Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Public
    Administration, Economics, or a closely related field AND two years of fiscal analysis work
    in a budget function using PeopleSoft, which includes developing and monitoring budgets,
    analyzing budget data, and preparing statistical and narrative reports
