							        MONTGOMERY COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF POLICE CHIEFS, INC.
The MONTGOMERY COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF POLICE CHIEFS, INC. SCHOLARSHIP FUND has been
established at The Dayton Foundation for high school seniors attending schools represented by membership
in the Montgomery County Association of Police Chiefs, Inc.



Scholarship Criteria
Criteria for selection will include academic performance, participation in school, church and community activities,
work experience, letter of recommendation, and essay.
           Be a high school senior who attends a high school in an area represented by a member of the
             Montgomery County Association of Police Chiefs.
           Plans to major in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice
           Have been accepted at a two- or four-year college/university
           Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

Size and Frequency of the Scholarship
This one-time award of $750.00 may be used for tuition and related educational expenses at the undergraduate
level.

Application Process
Submit a completed application packet to The Dayton Foundation accompanied in order by the items listed
below. Please make three copies of the original packet, assembled in the same order, for the scholarship
committee. Please note you only need to submit one official transcript and the rest may be copied. Please
submit in the following order:

    1. A copy of the acceptance letter from college/university that includes your Student ID (University ID).
    2. A most recent official grade transcript including ACT and/or SAT scores. In the original packet the
       transcript must be official. The transcript may be copied for the additional packets.
    3. A recent letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, guidance counselor, principal or employer.
    4. Please write a short essay outlining your educational and future career goals. Your essay should be
       typed, double spaced, and use a 12 point font.

Selection Process
A Scholarship Selection Committee will review all applications and may elect not to award a scholarship if, in its
judgment, a suitable candidate cannot be identified.
