Allen Priebe Art Gallery
The Allen Priebe Art Gallery opened in 1971 in the newly-completed Arts and Communication Center on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus. The gallery is named in memory of Allen Priebe, a member of the UW Oshkosh art faculty and teacher at the Rose Swart Campus School, until his death in 1965. The gallery is located on the first floor of the Arts and Communication building, across from the Music Hall. Each school year the gallery hosts six exhibits, giving the university community and the public a chance to meet visiting artists and view a variety of art exhibitions. These exhibits are selected by a board of eight students elected at the end of each spring semester. The board meets regularly with a designated art faculty director. Funding for the Priebe Gallery comes from student allocations, although donations are accepted and appreciated. There is no admission charge. Refreshments are served during opening/artist receptions.
Gallery Hours: Monday – Friday: 10:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday – Thursday: 7:00 to 9:00 pm Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 to 4:00 pm
