                            POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Curriculum Development Assistant

Department: Curriculum Development and
            Regulatory Compliance

Job Purpose: This is a regular, entry-level position which supports all aspects of curriculum
development and design, assisting the Director of Curriculum Development and Regulatory
Compliance as well as other course developers and designated Course Designers. Given initial
guidance, the incumbent is expected to function with limited direction and minimal supervision
both when performing tasks within the process and when coordinating tasks within and
between departments. Upon completion of both the orientation period and first annual review
period, the expectation is that the Curriculum Development Assistant would be at a level with
experience and aptitude to be eligible for the promotion to Curriculum Development Specialist.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks: (Not necessarily limited to the following)

       Develop and update course content for various professional continuing and qualifying
        education curriculums
       Coordinate with the Director of Curriculum Development and Regulatory Compliance to
        insure that administrative cognizance is maintained of all courses assigned in
        production
       Coordinate with other course developers and designated Course Designers to design
        online course content and materials on an as needed basis
       Coordinate with the Curriculum Quality Assurance Coordinator to assist in maintaining
        quality control of all curriculum whether fully developed in-house or received from out-
        sourced, contracted course authors
       Coordinate with the Director of Curriculum Development and Regulatory Compliance to
        prioritize courses in the curriculum development queues
       Assist in implementing changes received from time study participants, or any reviewers
        conducting limited copy editing and/or proofreading

Education & Experience:

   High School Diploma or GED required
   Formal curriculum development or technical writing experience preferred
   Formal copy editing, limited editing, or proofreading experience preferred
   College degree desired
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

      Superior written and oral communication skills required
      Strong functional and task management skills required
      Computer competence in applications of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, &
       PowerPoint) as well as Internet Explorer required
      Competence in or experience with FrontPage, Adobe Acrobat, and Windows Media Player
       highly preferred
      Self-confident and professional when dealing with fellow employees, course authors,
       outside source subject matter experts, and other curriculum development contacts
      Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
      Superior work ethic and professional attitude
