Job Title:         Development & Marketing Director
Reports To:        Executive Director
Scheduled:         Full-time with benefits, requires some evenings and weekends
Location:          Based in our Neenah office, with travel primarily to Oshkosh and Green Lake

SUMMARY The Development and Marketing Director will be responsible for growing and
sustaining the financial resources necessary to support the agency’s programs and services and
build community awareness and support through outreach and marketing initiatives. This
position will lead and coordinate all aspects of the agency’s fundraising and marketing efforts.
This includes researching and cultivating potential donors and other funding opportunities,
securing and managing donor relationships and gifts, managing fund raising events sponsored by
the organization, and implementing a marketing plan to raise donor and community awareness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
 Develop and execute a comprehensive development plan to generate funds to sustain and
    support future growth of programs and services utilizing Board, volunteer and staff
    resources.
            Cultivate and build relationships with current donors and prospects, including
             individuals, corporations/businesses, foundations and community organizations.
            Develop a comprehensive donor stewardship program.
            Coordinate and execute direct mail solicitation.
            Coordinate and execute an annual campaign.
            Develop a planned giving program.
            Solicit sponsorships for fundraising events.
            Manage and support special events for both fundraising and awareness purposes.
   Ensure timely and accurate recording of gifts received and accurate completion of donor
    acknowledgements. Work with Administrative Assistant to ensure that donor database is
    accurate and effective.
   Work with the marketing committee to create and maintain print materials such as brochures,
    newsletter, and annual reports in alignment with and support of fundraising objectives.
   Represent the agency at community events and before community groups as a presenter and
    speaker to engage the community in the mission of the agency.
   Work cooperatively with other staff as a team to understand the direction and meet the needs
    of programs and services.

QUALIFICATIONS
   Four-year degree preferred, with a proven track record of success in fundraising.
   Proven effectiveness at building, engaging, soliciting, and maintaining donors of all types.
   Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and competence with public speaking
    to groups of all sizes and types.
   The ability to work independently and take initiative.
   Well-developed organizational skills with exceptional attention to follow through.
   Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
   The ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive information with good judgment and
    complete discretion.
   Knowledge of the Fox Valley area philanthropic community a plus
   Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office ® suite programs.
