Agile QA role specialising in test automation for BSkyB’s new video streaming platform Popcorn /
NowTV. The application formed the common server component serving a number of clients including;
framework was; Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber JVM, Junit, and Geb. Parse XML docs in Java.
Jan11-May12 O2 / Equal Experts (Contract) Agile QA Engineer
Agile QA role specialising in test automation for O2’s new Upgrade web site built using Spring MVC,
and a new ‘back-end’ Rest Api underpinned by MongoDB . Developing a Test Framework following
the Pyramid Model using the Page Object pattern in Java, JSoup, Selenium 2, TestNG, Jenkins,
IntelliJ, HttpClient, and Gradle. Performance testing using JMeter and Grinder. Using SOAPUI to test
SOAP Web Services. Parsing JSON using Groovy APIs.
May10-Dec10 BSkyB (Contract) Agile Lead QA Engineer
Agile QA role for a new B2B PHP Web site. Developing a Test Framework using Java, WebDriver
(Selenium 2), TestNG, and Ant. Analysis of Cucumber and Fitnesse was also undertaken. Helped to
develop the Agile process with a greater QA focus. Lead QA in a team of three QAs providing
guidance on Agile and Automation and representing QA in project decisions.

2008 – 2009 British Airways (Permanent) Agile QA Engineer
Agile Lead QA Engineer on the ‘ba.com’ air travel web (JSP/Oracle) application. The role covered;
reviewing User Stories, defining business rules and Use Cases, developing test plans, running tests
manually, reporting defects, producing automation scripts in Selenium Java, maintenance of QTP
VBScripts, prototyping with Fitnesse, maintaining the Kan Ban board, and contributing to the Scrum.
2007 – 2008 British Airway (Permanent) QA Engineer
Testing a Windows package for a mission critical Terminal 5 application. The tools used were; HP
Quality Centre, Windows Mobile, Excel, and PRISM. Included managing a team of two testers.
1989 – 2007 British Airways (Permanent) Developer and Technical Lead
On joining BA I worked on various in-house BA applications as a developer using; using; C++, Solaris
Shell scripting, and Oracle, C, Pro*C, and OS/370 Assembler. I then progressed to a Technical lead
developer role covering the full development lifecycle. Involved extensive use of; PL/SQL, Java, Junit,
Shell scripting, and Oracle. Later I began focusing in QA, developing detailed regression testing scripts
and checking the quality of third party developer deliverables.
