					    Air & Waste Management Association’s 103rd Annual Conference &
               Exhibition – Student Paper / Poster Awards


                         Student Platform Paper Awards

The Air & Waste Management Association’s Student Platform Paper Award will
acknowledge up to two exceptional technical papers that are written by authors
who are Masters or Doctoral students. The recipients of the award will be
determined by judges from the A&WMA membership. To be eligible for this
award, an individual must:

   1. Be a Masters or Doctoral Student currently enrolled in an institution

   2. Be the primary author of the paper (or extended abstract)

   3. Present the paper as a platform presentation at A&WMA’s Annual
      Conference & Exhibition

To be considered for the award, simply indicate that you are a “student” when
submitting your abstract to the ACE Technical Program.

NOTE: If you indicate that your preferred presentation type is “poster” when you
submit your abstract, it will not be considered for either the student poster
contest or the student platform paper award. To submit a poster for the student
poster competition, you must follow the directions below.

                           Student Poster Competition
The Air & Waste Management Association’s Student Poster Competition
recognizes student posters to be the best amongst those considered in each of
the following categories:

                               UNDERGRADUATE

                           1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place

                                     MASTERS

                           1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place

                                    DOCTORAL

                           1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place

To be eligible for this competition, an individual must:
   1. Be an undergraduate, masters, or doctoral student currently enrolled in an
      institution

   2. Be the primary author of the extended abstract

   3. Present the abstract as a poster in the student poster competition at
      A&WMA’s Annual Conference and Exhibition

To be considered for this competition, the author must submit a one page
abstract to the Oasis Abstract Management System by December 4, 2009.
Students are encouraged to address any topic related to air and waste issues.
The abstracts will be considered and judged equally for:

      Technical quality
      Relevance and significance to current environmental issues related to air
       and waste
      Lack of commercialism

Authors will be notified of preliminary acceptance of their abstract by December

Guidelines on formatting posters may be found here.

Please note that you must meet the draft Extended Abstract deadline of March 5,
2010 and the final Extended Abstract deadline of April 2, 2010 to maintain your
eligibility.
