                            THE GULFPORT HIGH SCHOOL DRILL MEET

DATE: 30 May, 2012

LOCATION:

Gulfport High School, in conjunction with Marine Corps JROTC and the City of Gulfport, Mississippi are
pleased to announce the 2012-13 Gulfport High School JROTC Drill competition to be held at Gulfport
High School, Gulfport, Mississippi on 29 September, 2012 beginning at 0830. Competition will be divided
into two separate Divisions.

Demilitarized and Unarmed with a Champion selected in each Division. There will be one Inspection with
awards for 1st – 3rd.

                          The competition divisions will be categorized as follows

                                   Color Guard                       Color Guard

NOTE: First through third place winners will be awarded based on the highest total score received in a
selected Event. A Division Champion will be awarded by the highest total score within each Division.

To enter the Competition is a one time School Registration Fee of $125.00. Each School may enter (TWO)
teams in each Division.

JUDGES: Judges will be from all branches of the military. Every effort will be made to have one judge
from each military service on each of the drill areas.

Individual differences in service drill regulations will be considered at the time of judging. Head Judges
will review any discrepancy with the Service representative on the field prior to completing score sheets.
NO SPECIFIC SERVICE WILL HAVE AN ADVANTAGE IN THIS COMPETITION. The Service
Uniform or your Exhibition Uniform may be worn throughout the competition. (NO BDU'S).



                                                     1.
(1) Noise making devices such as whistles, horns or musical devices ARE NOT allowed. Any team using
this type of device will be disqualified from that event.

(2) Some schools and principals will not allow the enforcement of Military Personal Appearance Standards;
however, male cadets in uniform with pony tails, braids, earrings or any other extreme hair style are not
allowed at this competition.

(3) Any school that brings a cadet that disgraces the uniform in this manner or by any other action will be
disqualified.

(4) Any attempt by any Instructor to stop the score sheet runner to review a drill score will result in
disqualification.

(5) Only the teams that are currently performing or in the Ready Area are allowed on the Drill Field,
violating this policy will result in disqualification.

Instructors are not allowed beyond the Ready Area.

SOPS: A complete package of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Rules, and Guidelines are attached.

Team Registration: We may have to limit the number of schools participating in the competition. So please
register early if you plan to attend. No school will be entered until the Registration Form and all entry fees
are received. (GIVE ADVANCE NOTICE IF YOU WILL BE HAND CARRING ENTRY FEE)

The cutoff for entering is 1 September, 2012 or as soon as the maximum number of school have
registered. *** Please note the cancellation policy. After 15 September, 2012 NO REFUNDS WILL
BE GIVEN.
