1a Our vision, values and aims
Our vision for St Marnock’s Primary is that all grow together in community, sharing Gospel values which will ensure excellence for all.

Our school values are Wisdom, Justice, Integrity, Compassion and Love.

This may mean putting others before ourselves so we may support each other to reach our full potential as individuals. We face challenges honestly, openly
and respectfully seeking positive resolutions.

Our Staff are vital and are highly valued. We provide opportunities for development and creativity within the values culture of St Marnock’s.

Our Children are vital and are highly valued. Their success and the full development of their potential is our mission and our goal. In the process we aspire
that our children and young people become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. We have responsibilities
to ensure that they are safe, nurtured, healthy, achieving, active, respected, responsible and included.

Our learning experiences should:

 make learning active, collaborative, challenging and enjoyable in accordance with a Curriculum for Excellence
 connect the various stages of learning from 3 to 18
 encourage and recognise high levels of achievement and attainment
 include a wide range of experiences and life skills
 give opportunities for children to make appropriate choices to meet their individual interests and needs, while ensuring that these choices lead to
        successful outcomes
 ensure that assessment supports learning.

Our Parents are vital and highly valued. Partnership with our parents will allow us to support our children as effectively as possible. We also build up our
relationships with our community including the Parish of St Conval’s.

Our Curriculum must be inclusive, be a stimulus for personal achievement and, through the broadening of pupils' experience of the world, be an
encouragement towards informed and responsible citizenship.

Our children will be encouraged to develop the skills and abilities identified by the Scottish Executive to become successful learners, confident individuals,
effective contributors and responsible citizens.

1a Our vision, values and aims

The Aims of St Marnock’s Primary School are:

 to help the whole child to develop his or her individual abilities and to become good, healthy and enterprising citizens able to live full and satisfying lives

 to provide opportunities for this development through a structured curriculum delivered in a well resourced, quality learning and teaching and environment

 to support children to view education as a valuable life-long process where learning and achievement are valued and high expectations are promoted.

1b How our vision, values and aims were developed and how our stakeholders were consulted

In Aug 2006 all stakeholders were involved in developing the vision, values and aims for the amalgamated school, building on work done prior to the
amalgamation. This was done through discussion with relevant stakeholders and questionnaires.
In Aug 2008 it was decided to revisit our vision statement, values and aims to explore taking the school forward using Gospel values as a basis.
Vision, Values and Aims were developed in August 2008 in consultation with children, parents and staff (teachers and support staff).
Vision, Values and Aims are reviewed annually, most recently in March 2010 in the light of the school’s Standards and Quality Report and in line with local
and national priorities.

Information is gathered using questionnaires and consultation and included talking to the Pupil and Parent Councils as well as the priests from the local
parish.

 2. Summary of self evaluation process

How we carried out our self-evaluation and involved our stakeholders

Staff in St Marnock’s Primary were involved in completing questionnaires about whole school performance using HGIOS 3 Quality Indicators employed in
HMIe inspections. GCC TACLE reflections also informed our self evaluation and this was completed in February 2012.
In addition, staff were consulted with regards to curricular areas requiring further development. Staff and pupils were asked to complete a survey designed
similarly to HMI questionnaires, in order to assess their level of satisfaction with the school. The Parent Council were consulted about SIP priorities in May
2012, as were all parents who completed Survey Monkey in March 2012 and responded to our end of year questionnaires when the children’s Report Cards
 were issued.
The Pupil Council were consulted at meetings in May 2012.
