ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Please see entry requirements for the academic year 2011-2012 below. Entry is determined by meeting the
requirements outlined below and applicants are selected on the basis of a portfolio assessment and interview.
Please note that information below may outline current practice for academic year 2010-2011 and may be
subject to change.

AGE

           UK/EU students are required to be 16+ years on date of enrolment (12 September for academic
           year 2011-2012)
          International students are required to be 16+ years prior to date of enrolment to allow for sufficient
           time to apply for a student visa

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

 A Level Programme - IELTS 4.0

          International students, not on the UK Boarder Agency (UKBA) approved list of majority English-
            speaking countries, are required to have an IELTS 4.0 score or equivalent
 Portfolio Programme - IELTS 4.0

          International students, not on the UK Boarder Agency (UKBA) approved list of majority English-
            speaking countries, are required to have an IELTS 4.0 score or equivalent

 All students joining ISCA are entitled to receive approximately 200 hours of English language tuition per
 academic year, which is considered to improve English language skills by one IELTS point.

 The English language provision is divided into five hours of English language tuition per week and two hours of
 English support within studio tutorials.

 Students joining on the minimum language requirement of IELTS 4.0, with the intention of progressing into a
 higher education institution, may still need to consider additional private language provision. This can be
 discussed with the School, if required. (Please refer to Supplementary Fees/Learning Support on Fees Terms &
 Conditions)

 Students wishing to progress onto University of the Arts London courses, please note that the English language
 requirements vary from course to course. The requirement for Further Education (Foundation Diploma, Access
 and ABC Diploma) is IELTS 5.0-5.5 and IELTS 6.0-7.0 for Undergraduate courses.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Selection to this course is determined by meeting the minimum entry criteria listed below and through a
successful review of a portfolio of work. At this stage we are looking for students who demonstrate a strong
interest, talent and enthusiasm for art and design.

TO APPLY

 All application to study at the International School of Creative Arts (ISCA) should be made by downloading and
 returning a completed ISCA application form to enquiries@isca.uk.com

 The application form should be supported by a selection of 10-15 images of portfolio work (see Portfolio
 Guidelines for Prospective Students below). On submitting your application, the School office will contact you
 to schedule an interview.

 Early application is advised, although the School will always consider applications subject to the availability of
 places.


PORTFOLIO GUIDELINES FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

 All students are required to submit a digital portfolio consisting of 1-15 images with their application form. If
 you are attending an interview in person, you will be required to bring the original pieces were possible.

  How to Prepare Your Portfolio

      1.   You may submit between 10-15 images (no more) of pieces of work
      2.   Include images scanned from your sketchbooks were possible
      3.   If you have studied Design & Technology, don’t forget to include this work as well.
      4.   Ensure the images files are numbered 1-15 in the order you wish them to be viewed (chronologically
           and thematically) with most recent work at front.
      5.   Additional information such as media, titles, and if appropriate dimensions, should also be part of the
           file name. E.g. 1-Title of work, Media, Dimensions.jpeg, etc
      6.   Time restraints mean we will be unable to view films, videos or DVDs. You are advised to present this
           work in form of storyboards and stills.
      7.   Ensure that image files are saved in low resolution JPEG or PDF format

 Remember that the quality of the work is more important than the quantity!
