Protocol for Past Service Members and Members who are in the Private Sector
                     (Adopted by Council on 24 April 2009)

  1. This Protocol applies to:-
      a. A Member who is an office holder of the Association who becomes a Past
     Service Member; or
     b. A Member who becomes a partner of or is employed by a private sector
     organisation; or
     c. Past Service Members; and
     d. Persons having the rights and privileges of Past Service Members by virtue
     of Corporate Membership.

  2. In this Protocol the expression “Protocol Member” shall mean any of the
     persons to whom paragraph 1 apples.

  3. A Protocol Member who is a member of the Council whether as an office
     holder or otherwise shall declare in writing to the Council secretary any
     personal or financial interest in a private sector organisation and any changes
     to such declaration. A declaration shall also be made when requested by the
     Council Secretary. Any changes to declarations shall be notified to the
     Council secretary within 28 days of the date of any change.

  4. Protocol Member shall if present at a meeting of the Council declare to the
     Chairman of the Meeting at its commencement or when he or she becomes
     aware of the potential conflict, any interest in the business before the Council
     which may give rise to a conflict between the interests of the Association and
     the interests of the private sector organisation.

  5. A Protocol Member shall not without the written consent of the Council
     represent that any service provided by him or by any private sector
     organisation has been endorsed by the Association.

  6. A Protocol Member shall not without the written consent of the Council issue
     any publication in the name of the Association (whether alone or jointly with
     any other organisation).

  7. A Protocol Member shall not use the Association’s logo in conjunction with
     the logo of any other organisation unless the Council have given approval in
     writing.

  8. A Protocol Member shall respect the confidentiality of any information
     contained in any reports, minutes or other documents belonging to the
     Association or in any discussions at the meetings..

  9. A Protocol Member who is proposed by any ACSeS Branch as an officer
     holder in a Branch or as a representative of the Branch on the Council shall
     before appointment declare to the Branch Secretary or Branch Chair any
     personal or financial interest in a private sector organisation.
