For those of us who are lucky enough to have read any book by Nicholas sparks,
this book is the next one on your list to read.
The Notebook starts out with the story of Noah Calhoun, returning from the war
in 1964. As the days pass he can’t keep himself from remembering now more than ever,
about Allie, the love that he lost 14 years ago, when he got out of high school. He just
can’t help but reflect on what they could have had.
Allie Nelson is a bi city lawyer, now engaged to another man. Weeks before, she
had read an article about a house that Noah was restoring. She’s not completely sure what
her feelings are, but has an unexplainable urge to see him once again before she gets
After she visits him, she realizes that Noah had never stopped loving her, and she
never stopped either. Years later, Allie is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a disease that
destroys your memory. Noah struggles to make her remember about the love they shared.
I loved this book. The story is told with such familiarity that it makes you feel like
you know the characters. The way Nicholas Sparks expresses the character’s emotions
makes you feel the way they were feeling.
Be prepared to cry the day away. Have a lot of Kleenex’s next to you because this
book helps you realize true love can exist. I hope you enjoy it!
