YA4-H! at 4-H Summer Conference During Summer Conference at OSU we will be highlighting the 2012-2013 YA4-H! program, which will be a “Walk Around Oregon with YA4-H!” We will kick the year off at Summer Conference with some friendly county competition to see which county walks the most while at the conference. Everyone will get a t-shirt, pedometer and water bottle for participating, and we will have a 5K fun run, 3K walk, and several other fun activities like Yoga and Zumba. I want to invite ALL current YA4-H! members who will be attending Summer Conference to work with me help with the activities. All YA4-Hers who help at summer conference will receive a special YA4- H! promotional item. Please let me know if you want to be part of this group, and I will be in touch with more details! Helping with the YA4-H portion won’t impact your participation in anything else during the conference! You can still attend all the classes you sign up for. You will just be helping with the opening YA4-H! session at the general assembly on Wednesday afternoon, with the activities on Thursday morning, and at the closing assembly on Saturday morning. So, how about it? E-mail me at email@example.com if you are game to help and we will start planning! YA4-H! at the Oregon State Fair Friday, August 24th will be YA4-H! day at the Oregon State Fair in Salem. I would like to invite YA4-H! teams to be part of the day. There are two ways to be involved: 1) Your team could sign up for an hour during the day to plan and conduct an interactive health activity. How about those Hula hoops? Health treasure hunts? Teaching something?; AND/OR you and your team can help coordinate the “Walk Around Oregon with YA4-H!” that day at the fair. YA4-H! Team members that commit to at least one hour of conducting an interactive activity will receive 1) day passes to the fair for each team member; 2) money to purchase lunch; and UP to $50 (per county) for mileage reimbursement. Let me know if you or your county team are interested so we can plan the day together!
