The City of Greenville Annual Action Plan 2011-2012
Notice of Public Meeting and Comment Period
A public meeting will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 5:30pm
in the 1st floor conference room of City Hall, at 206 S. Main Street in downtown Greenville.
The City’s Community Development division will present the Annual Action Plan at this
meeting and the public will be encouraged to offer verbal or written comments regarding the
plan. The Community Development Residential Anti-Displacement and Relocation Assistance
Plan (RARAP) will also be available for review and comment.
The Annual Action Plan shapes Community Development’s strategy for addressing citywide
housing, creating suitable living environments, and economic development opportunities
particularly in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods. The plan outlines the goals, priorities,
and implementation of Community Development projects for the 2011-2012 program year.
Submission of the Annual Action Plan serves as the City’s application for funding under the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Block Grant (CDBG) and
HOME Investment Partnership programs. CDBG funds can be used to assist low and moderate
income persons, prevention or elimination of slum or blight, and to meet an urgent need. HOME
funds are primarily used to create affordable housing opportunities for low to moderate income
