FROM THE COMMANDER
The month of March is special to me. The American Legion’s birthday is March 15, which Post 62 will celebrate on
Saturday, March 13. Ross County American Legion Post 62 was formed in 1919, the same year the national
organization was chartered by Congress. As an American Legion Post 62 brat, a former Marine and as a
Legionnaire myself, I appreciate all that our Post has meant to Veterans over the years. I want that spirit to
continue, not just this year but well into the future. Please join me at our birthday party on
March 13 and commit yourself to our future in serving America’s Veterans. – John McDonald,

MEMBERSHIP
Won’t be long before I’ll have to be turning the 2009 membership cards back to American Legion Dept. of Ohio.
Those of you that haven’t paid your 2010 dues will be delinquent for 2009 dues, after Membership Cards are sent
back. I’ve posted a list behind the bar and on the bulletin board of those who haven’t paid for 2009. Check it out
and if you see someone you know, let them know. If you have any change in the last year I’ll make changes in the

SICK CALL AND MEMORIALS
We’re going to count on our members to provide us the names of our hospitalized comrades and those who have
passed away. We will be glad to share that information monthly in this space.

The SAL invites all members of the Post 62 family to take advantage of the camaraderie and savings available on
Monday nights. Stop in and check it out! 1st nomination of officers for April election at March 8th mtg @1900 hrs
AUXILIARY
We invite any Lady members to attend the Dist. 7 Spring Conference on 3/7. The details are below and there are
rides going if needed. Volunteer Hours for the Green Reports are needed and can be collected by any officer. We
will be having a meeting April 3 at 10a if you want to come help make out Green Reports.
Please participate in any or all of the activities listed below plus we have Avon fundraising and Rada Knives for
sale. The knives make great birthday, anniversary gifts and Mother’s Day gifts and everyone is familiar with Avon.
Instructions on how to order on the website is on the wall under the Past Commanders pictures in the Legion. Now,
