									   XRD SPECTRA AND STRUCTURE DETERMINATION OF A NOVEL COBALT-
                    BISMUTH BIMETALLIC SYSTEM

This work presents a detailed XRD patterns and structure determination of a novel cobalt-
bismuth (Co-Bi) bimetallic system. A number of compositions namely Co20Bi80, Co40Bi60,
Co60Bi40 and Co80Bi20 have been prepared by a precipitation method. These compositions
crystallize in the following lattices [1]:
The Co2Bi8 powder has an orthorhombic lattice with the following lattice parameters:
a = 10.176473 ± 0.001248 Å, b = 8.221081± 0.000711 Å, c = 6.280924 ± 0.000854 Å, V =
525.47 Å3.
The Co4Bi6 powder has a monoclinic lattice with the lattice parameters:
a = 12.00 Å, b =2.83846 Å, c = 5.78311 Å, β = 102.0006 °, V= 192.68 Å3.
The Co6Bi4powder has a monoclinic lattice with the lattice parameters:
a = 5.84897 Å, b = 13.98597 Å, c = 3.45509 Å, β= 99.6199 °, V = 278.66 Å3.
The Co8Bi2 powder has a monoclinic lattice with the lattice parameters:
a = 3.81270 Å, b = 14.03145 Å, c = 3.59253 Å, β=113.1290 °, V = 176.74 Å3.
