Job Title: Firefighter Business Unit/Department(s): Protective Services Reports To: Deputy Chief, Operations Salary: $18.26 - $26.02 per hour based on directly related education and/or experience Position Summary: The City of Leduc Fire Services is currently seeking energetic individuals to fill parttime paid on-call firefighter positions. The City of Leduc Fire Service is an integrated/composite fire department that provides seamless service in fire, medical and rescue operations to our community. Duties and Responsibilities:  Fire Suppression/Rescue/ Medical Response  Fire Prevention and Public Education  Fire Inspections and pre-planning  Establishment and promotion of related public safety programs  Operate emergency vehicles and equipment in a safe and courteous manner Selection Process: The selection process will be:  Job Posting September 19-October 3  Competition closes October 5  Information session October 8  Physical testing October 24 & 25  Interview October 28-30  Orientation November 7  Mandatory Training November 14,15, 21, 22 Qualifications: The successful candidate will:  Have a high school diploma, or G.E.D.  Live within the City of Leduc, or work within the City of Leduc and be able to leave your place of work when paged to respond. A letter from your employer will be required stating that you are allowed to leave your place of employment when paged to respond  Possess superior interpersonal, public relations, and verbal / written communication skills  Have the ability to work both independently (minimal supervision) and in a cooperative team-based environment  Have basic computer skills  Provide a Criminal Record Check as conducted by the RCMP  Possess a valid class-5 Operators License with air brake endorsement or willing to obtain an air brake endorsement  Provide a current Drivers Abstract with no more than 7 demerits  Sign a Confidentiality Agreement  Provide a medical clearance prior to taking the job related physical testing Additional emergency response experience and training, 1001 Level 2 firefighter and a class 3 driver’s license are assets.
