The Grandview High School Wolves are lead by first-year Varsity Coach Tari Wood who
takes over a senior-rich team ready to make a run at another state championship. Wood
was the assistant coach on the 2008 State Championship team, which also finished ranked
#11 nationally by Adidas/NSCAA national poll. In Grandview’s short 11-year history,
the girls’ team has qualified for state 10 times, winning state championships in 2004 and
2008. The Wolves are in one of the toughest leagues in the state of Colorado and won the
league championship in 2008 on their way to a state title. Last year the Wolves finished
12-4, scoring 54 goals and only giving up 8 goals, the fewest goals allowed in a season.
The senior leadership of this team is already having an impact as the Wolves have a 3-0
start of the 2010 season. Returning starters Sierra Riasati, Lauren Cingoranelli and
Brittany Dunn have already signed letters of intent to play for Division I programs.
Cingoranelli and Dunn are respectively Centennial League First and Second Team
selections from 2009. Second year Captain Kristen Haynie, senior, and Bri Campos,
sophomore, will hold down the midfield for Grandview. The defense is anchored by
seniors Riasati, Cara Renaud, and Kayla Stahalik.
