Please fill out the info within, email Phil Nowick regarding your plans (Phil@pwarocky.com ) to attend, and plan
to bring this application to your first workout. We do appreciate your interest and will do our best to help your
son(s)!

I. PWA Rocky History

We (Phil and Dave Nowick) have been coaching elite-level wresters of all ages under the name NT Wrestling for the past
nine years. We take pride in the fact that many of the wrestlers from Colorado that went on to compete at the NCAA
Division I level were in our room at some point. Historically, our wrestlers of all ages have dominated within the State of
Colorado. In early 2009, we began using Nick Purler’s FOUNDATION WRESTLING techniques exclusively – and our
results exploded. Many of our 8-14 year-old wrestlers began winning national tournaments instead of just making it to the
placing rounds, and we had high school wrestlers win medals in both styles at the Fargo Junior Nationals. We knew we
were on the right track when we received unsolicited comments from COLLEGE coaches that they have never seen
young wrestlers with such a high level of technique after seeing a few of our students in action at their summer camps.
Given the success of Nick’s Purler Wrestling Academies elsewhere in the US and our focus on FOUNDATION
WRESTLING technique, we decided to merge our school into the Purler Wrestling Academy family and formed Purler
Wrestling Academy – Rocky Mountain (PWA Rocky).

PWA is the nation’s largest and arguably the most successful wrestling academy / school. Nick and Tony Purler’s
students have been racking up Tulsa National titles, Junior National medals and State High School Championships for the
better part of a decade. All PWA students are trained around a ‘system’…a plan…a way of doing things. Position, mental
preparation, strategy, technique, practice plans - no stone is left unturned in the PWA approach to wrestling. Nick Purler
has designed a consistent approach for everything, ranging from how to talk to students, how to coach mat side, how to
teach wrestling techniques, how to manage the workout room, how to drill the students, etc. This later became known as
FOUNDATION WRESTLING, and his ground-breaking instructional training course is sold all over the USA as well as
overseas. Many leaders in the wrestling industry will tell you that FOUNDATION WRESTLING is the best instructional
product ever produced for the sport of wresting.

We have been personally trained by Nick Purler, flying to Nick’s camps, clinics, practices, etc. and have spent countless
hours studying, drilling and teaching Foundation Wrestling. Furthermore, all of our wrestling practices will be run based
off of the same workout plan as PWA St. Louis (run by Nick) uses that week in their practices…run by Nick. You will
literally be training along-side some of the nation’s top wrestlers at the prestigious PWA/Foundation schools in Missouri,
Illinois, California and Iowa. The warm ups, discussions, even the steps of each technique will mirror Nick Purler’s weekly
practice plan so that all of PWA’s wrestler’s are on the same page and the season’s workouts are very organized and
efficient.

II. Goals

We will provide a structured training environment that will enable you to dramatically improve your wrestling results. If you
are a second-year wrestler and are just beginning to learn the sport – we will elevate your skills, and you will begin to beat
the so-called “studs” in your area and local wrestling room. If you have placed fourth in the state high school tournament
two years in a row, train with us for a season and you will break through to the finals. If you are the top wrestler in
Colorado at your weight class, we can help you win consistently on a national level. None if this happens overnight - you
need to train, study and drill intensively under our system. Put in the time and work, be consistent, and you will reach the
next level at PWA Rocky.
III. Coaching philosophy - Building a strong foundation!

Perhaps the most revolutionary approach of the FOUNDATION WRESTLING system is the belief that becoming
successful in wrestling involves much more than learning techniques. In fact, the system emphasizes three areas that
must be developed before even the most experienced wrestler can reach his full potential. Specifically, we teach that
ATTITUDE, POSITIONING, and FIGHTING SKILLS are the foundation of success in wrestling. Technique will be laid on
top of this strong foundation.

A. Attitude

We will work with each wrestler to help them develop their competitive attitude so that he learns to enjoy competition and
no longer has a fear of losing. Rather than wrestling not to lose, we teach our students to take to the mat with
confidence, ready to make things happen; rather than hoping for a break. The uncertainties of competition should fuel
our performance, not poison it. A wrestler must WRESTLE TO WIN. The following are quotes from the Phase I
Handbook that accompanies Nick’s instructional DVD’s – and they could not ring truer:

“Once you start focusing on what YOU are going to do instead of focusing on what HE is going to do, only then
will you be able to compete and perform.”

“Do not allow the PRESSURES of competition to be greater than the PLEASURES of competition”

“Your desire to win has to be greater than your fear of failing”…only then will you look forward to facing top
competition rather than dreading the match.

B. Positioning

All elite-level wrestlers must first understand the concept behind positioning. They must realize that not getting scored
upon is just as important (if not more so) as putting points on the board. They must also display superior positioning
throughout the match and be willing to fight to maintain it. Becoming a SOLID wrestler must be the goal of every
ambitious wrestler. We will constantly reinforce this concept in our student’s minds and bodies by using positioning drills
that Nick has personally designed in order to build and strengthen this aspect of their wrestling. A SOLID wrestler can
compete with any opponent, and we firmly believe that - if we are in the match - we can win the match. Disciplined,
SOLID wrestling is the quickest way to cut a wrestler’s losses in half. In a tight one-point-match, we would much rather
see our athletes win 1-0 rather than 10-9. Scoring 10 points is great, but giving up 9 shows poor positioning skills that
must be addressed immediately.

Understanding the concept Positioning: (EXAMPLE) If a wrestler is taken down 10 times with a single leg this weekend,
most coaches and wrestlers will work on their single leg defense. However, we want to know why we had opponents on
one of our wrestler’s leg 10 times in the first place! That is the concept of positioning.

C. Fighting skills

Wrestling is a combat sport…that is the bottom line. A wrestler must feel threatened and face the fact that his opponent
wants the same thing he does. He must not only possess great hand- fighting skills, but be willing to stay on his
opponent no matter how tired he is and regardless of the score. There is no shame in losing, only shame in losing
without a fight. Instead of waiting for a break, a good wrestler will make his own breaks. We will work extremely hard in
this department and see to it that our wrestlers show up to the mat prepared for battle and prepared to win matches.

* We don’t care IF you lose, we care HOW you lose.
 D. Technique

A serious wrestler must become a student of the game. It has been said that ‘In order to learn it, you must live it’, and we
feel this is a very truthful statement indeed. From a technical aspect, a wrestler must focus his energies on the high
percentage, low-risk scoring techniques and perfect every move shown to him. He knows that the superior technician is
always a threat as he can score from any position at any given time during the match. In our rooms, CORE techniques
from COMMON wrestling positions are emphasized at all times.

E. Learning to Work Smart

With the prevalence of national tournaments, age-group rankings, “triple crown” awards, etc., the game has changed in
wrestling – even in youngest age groups. The top wrestlers have private coaching, and it is unrealistic to expect that
simply working hard and being patient will pay off. That sounds unfair, but it is the simple truth. You need to work hard
and WORK SMART and use your training time effectively. In a nutshell, we do not lose wrestling matches because we do
not work hard enough…we lose matches because of the following:

1. We get to a single leg 3 times and NO takedown.
2. We get to our feet 4 times and NO escape.
3. We have a front headlock for 2 minutes of the match and NO takedown.

Perfecting high percentage techniques from the most common positions in wrestling is the key to success. If you study
the sport of wrestling, you will find that most points are scored from the same 5-6 common positions. Sprawling and
getting a front headlock is one of them. You will easily have 4 per match on average. Multiply this by the 40 matches
you easily get per season and you can see how important this position is - very simple math. Your son will be drilled
relentlessly from the common positions and with the best 2-4 techniques from these common positions.

IV. Membership (fees and considerations)

Tuition is $85.00 per month. We would highly prefer that you make all payments on-line at
www.purlerwrestling.com/rocky. We do accept checks at practice and have a tuition box set up for you to use. However,
we highly prefer that you pay online. All checks MUST BE MADE OUT TO PHIL NOWICK.

* Keep in mind that a year of PWA ROCKY training (52 weeks x 2 hours) amounts to approximately 4 weeks of summer
wrestling camp…making ours a very affordable option as well as an effective choice in training.

Complimentary Trial Practice

It is unrealistic to expect athletics to be free. Piano lessons, karate dojos, math tutors, ice skating, dance and gymnastics
instructors all charge for their services. Including travel and tournaments, we will be spending hundreds of hours of our
time benefitting you and your son this year. Nevertheless, we want to prove to you that we can make a difference in your
son’s wrestling. For this reason, we’d like for you to come to two of our workouts (after filling out the registration of
course) and see if PWA is right for you. Then, if you decide to join for the training cycle, you sign up officially and pay for
the sessions including those workouts. If not, at least you know what PWA Rocky is all about and we had the opportunity
to show you what we have to offer. Thus, by filling out this application and attending your first practices, you take zero
risk with all of the upside. Not many organizations have that kind of confidence in their product – we do.

Siblings’ tuition will be priced at $40.00/month up to two additional siblings. All other siblings (4 wrestler and up) will be
billed at $60.00/month.

 We work very hard to provide not only expert training, but a great workout room for our students. However, we
are limited in workout partners of certain ages and weights. If your son is a heavy weight or super heavy weight,
please contact us before joining as we may not have a workout partner for your son and will need to work on
getting someone involved for him to train with.
 Please do not hand us checks / money for tuition, shirts, singlets, entry fees, etc while at weekend meets. Please
wait till practice or put it in the mail! Thanks!

 V. PWA Rocky benefits

In addition to highly advanced wrestling instruction, every member of PWA Rocky receives the following:

         1. Access to a fiercely competitive training environment
         2. PWA traveling team membership for National events
         3. Coaching and evaluation at major competitions
         4. College Recruiting: David, Phil – as well as Nick and Tony Purler - are extremely well connected within the
college coaching community. With regard to recruiting - when the time comes, we will work to get all deserving
PWA members the exposure they need order to earn a chance to compete at the collegiate level. We view
this is our most important obligation to our most dedicated athletes. You do your job, we will do ours.
         5. Training and exposure to the most precise training methods you will find in the US.

VI. Coaching at meets (and practice!)

When possible, we will attend many of the major and minor wrestling meets during the course of the year. We will make
every attempt to watch all PWA Rocky student’s matches that we can during the tournaments but also realize that it is
simply not possible to do during the course of even the smallest tournament. Please have your son give us his bout
number, mat number, and approximately when he will be up. We apologize ahead of time for missing any important
matches…it will happen! Also, if we are watching your son’s match and walk away, it is because he has the match under
control and we are on our way to see another important PWA Rocky match. We will never walk away from a match that
your son is losing.

Local Meet, Tournaments and Suburban League Matches

At local meets, we will not coach mat side unless asked to do so by your coach (which means very rarely). For these in-
season, local meets, your in-season team coach is the one that needs to be mat side. Unless he asks us to help out, we
will stay behind the scenes. If you see us coach some kids mat side, but not YOUR son, this is why.

National Level Tournaments (including those within the State of Colorado)

Conversely, we expect the wrestlers in our academy to be a part of our traveling team and at the big national events. You
are expected to a) wear the PWA wrestling uniform, b) sit in close proximity to all other PWA wrestlers and coaches
(which will include Nick and Tony Purler and Tulsa, Liberty, Reno, etc.), and c) have a PWA coach in your corner. We will
have several dads and assistant coaches that know our system available to help coach if it becomes a physical
impossibility for us to be in your corner.

If you see Nick Purler at a national event, please introduce yourself and let him know what you think of PWA Rocky. He is
extremely personable and eager to meet those that have taken the effort and made the commitment to get involved with
PWA.

Keep in mind that you have two sets of twins to deal within the PWA family! Phil and Dave are identical twins, but Nick
also has an identical twin brother (Tony Purler) who runs Purler Wrestling in Kansas City. None of us will be offended by a
case of mistaken identity. However, if you happen to say hello to one of us and we look puzzled, you are not being
snubbed – you have the wrong twin!
We have experienced rare, unintended occasions where we will visit with and help prepare one of our boys only to watch
him run out on the mat verses another one of our students!! If this ever happens, it is by accident and we apologize ahead
of time. We will never play favorites but will stand back behind the table in a neutral territory and watch our boys battle it
out from there. Again, we apologize ahead of time on this one too! We don’t always double-check who one of our
wrestlers has coming up and sometimes it is another one of our students.

MATSIDE COACHING BY PARENTS AT PRACTICE IS NOT ALLOWED!
Please note that we do not allow coaching from the mat side or bleachers during at any time during practice. We need a
very controlled environment. Keep in mind a few things:

 1. The louder it gets, the louder it gets.
 2. Many boys do not have a mom or dad that knows wrestling so, while you are coaching, helping, and/or yelling, you are
basically hindering the efforts of the opposing student and he (and mom) do not have a very good experience with our
 practices.
 3. Write notes at practice and on the way home, discuss the 2 things he did well and the 2 MAIN areas he needs to work
on. This way you are studying his wrestling and actually making a difference instead of getting excited and yelling moves
 at him.

We must have a controlled and quiet workout session. Many coaches do not allow parents into the room for this very
reason. We, however, encourage parents to watch practice. We want to earn your respect, and we want you to see that
you are receiving a return on your investment. Furthermore, at PWA, we strongly believe in empowering parents by
giving take-home practice plans each week. We believe that both mom and dad are the best assistant coaches we will
ever have, and you will be given hours of opportunity to coach and supervise your son’s progress. In sum, we will fulfill
our role, and we expect you to fulfill yours, but the proper atmosphere at is critical. If you, as well as your son complete
the prescribed drills and repetitions each week, your son will improve very rapidly.

Having said that, remember that your son will not master the sport of wrestling in 2-3 years much less ONE season or
practice. Also, remember that some kids may need 4-5 months to beat their workout partner…nothing is built overnight.
It is a process….like it or not.

 VII. Attendance

You are expected to be at every scheduled workout on the night that you have signed up to train. Please make every effort
to attend. We understand that missing practice is sometimes unavoidable, but also realize that missing one workout not
only puts your son behind, but also his training partner. Attendance is taken each night following workout. Try to juggle
other schedules around our night of training.

Training for 2+ hours a week for 52 weeks a year adds up! This is the success of Purler Wrestling and Foundation
Wrestling. The race goes not to the fastest or most talented runners…but to those who keep on running! Consistent and
constant critique of your son’s drilling and hard wrestling is the key to success. You’d have to pay for 4+ week long summer
camps to get the same amount of training PWA Rocky can provide and at much less expense to you.

* While wresting is NOT a fight, there is a lot of FIGHT in a wrestling match. It is unrealistic to expect that your wrestler
can go 6-8 months without getting into any fights and be ready for the upcoming season. We work to get 40 minutes of
hard wrestling into each workout so that your son is hardened and battle-ready. Training during the off-season time does
this.

As we open additional training sites, you will be required to choose a training site and remain at that site. This allows us to
keep room numbers manageable.
Also keep in mind that it will take a few practices before your son will know which kids are at his level and which are not.
Ideally, you want to grab kids that are even with you, below you, and also a lot better. Rotate between live wrestling
partners (we pick 2-3 per practice) to get the best out of it. However, unlike Tai Kwan Do, we do not have belts or levels
(like gymnastics) so you can get ‘thrown to the wolves’ in tournaments and our practice room. We will do our best to make
sure that your son gets a variety of kids to go with and that his first few nights in our gym are enjoyable and not over-
whelming. Make sure he sticks it out if his first few nights are very difficult. Just as our bodies will adjust to running and
eventually be prepared for 26 mile marathons, your son will get used to the work load and be able to make it easily through
our practices IF (and only if) he pushes himself mentally and you encourage him to do so. We have kids that drive 2 hours
round trip each week to gain access to our workout rooms and training partners and your son should be excited to have so
many dedicated kids to train with. After 2-3 workouts, he will be one of the boys and take off from that point forward! We
promise.

 VIII. Making Contact

Our website is www.purlerwrestling.com/rocky

You can contact Phil Nowick at 303-725-2493 or by e-mail at phil@pwarocky.com.

If you experience any issues, please contact Phil Nowick only. Our goal is to offer a quality training environment that will
prepare your son for college wrestling someday, not to provide a PERFECT training environment. Parents you WILL
experience the following:

           a) Your son’s drilling partner will not be the ideal size or he will be less experienced in the Foundation system,
           b) Your son or his partner will lose his temper – just like all kids do,
           c) Another parent in the practice room will let his or her exuberance get the best of him – just like all parents do,
           c) On a given practice day, another PWA wrestler will receive more personal attention than your son.

If you see specific areas in which your son is struggling, simply grab us after practice. We are happy to spend some extra
time troubleshooting his technique. The above are issues related to EVERY wrestling room in the country. In sum, please
take a deep breath and do your best to keep things in perspective prior to calling or e-mailing us with issues. If, at any
point, your demeanor becomes irrational or abusive toward any of our coaches, the conversation will be terminated
immediately and we will see you at the next practice – no hard feelings.

 IX. Policies and Procedures

       1. Termination: PWA Rocky is a private wrestling academy, and we retain the right to dismiss any wrestler, at any
time for any reason. No refunds will be given upon dismissal.
       2. Wrestlers are required to pay attention at all times: Most serious injuries occur when a student loses
concentration. We take this matter very seriously. Please speak to your son before they come to our workouts
and ask him to pay attention and focus – it is for his own protection.
       3. No Fighting: We do not allow fighting in the room, and we encourage our students to leave the room (no need to
ask for permission) for some cooling off time should they feel their temper begin to flair. Having said that, wrestling
is a highly combative sport and your son will obviously receive his share of bumps and bruises. Please try to take
          this in stride.
       4. Video Cameras: No video cameras at practice no exceptions.
       5. Payments of Fees: Fees are due on the first practice of each month. You have the option of leaving a check in
the tuition box that we will make available at practice, but we would highly prefer that you pay on line. We like to
offer affordable, advanced training and do not enjoy playing the role of a collection agency. Nevertheless, you will
receive both a friendly call and e-mail reminder should you fail to pay on the first of the month. Please make every
effort not to put us in this position. Thank you.
   6. Weekly Payments/Missed Workouts: No weekly payments will be accepted. No credit will be given for missed
      workouts / no exceptions.
   7. Behavior:
          a. Parents or wrestlers that exhibit continued poor behavior at practice or tournaments will be dismissed.
          b. Athletes are to act with pride and composure if defeated. Part of winning is losing and learning from the
experience. Every person experiences his or her share of losses in life no matter how hard they work, how
deserving they are, or they bad you want it. Be gracious – act like a young man.
          c. Parents are asked to keep their composure at tournaments even in case of controversial calls. Purler
Wrestling Academy – due its success - will be under constant scrutiny. Your behavior is a reflection of our
              business.
          d. Abusive parents will be asked to pull their son from PWA Rocky. We do not allow parents to coach their
sons at practice – no exceptions.
   8. Trading of Gear and Uniforms: No trading or selling team singlets or jackets is permitted. However, t-shirts, etc
can be traded. We all work very hard to do things right both on and off the mat and we do not want someone we
      don’t know representing our program.

X. Uniforms and Merchandise

We will have shirts and uniforms in stock available during most of the year. Orders will be taken at practice or upon
request and shipped out upon arrival.

XI. Practice Schedule (Holidays)

We will hire a qualified sub for any workouts on the rare occasion that we must cancel for personal reasons. In all cases,
it will be one of our assistant coaches unless scheduling difficulties occur. The only exceptions will be in case of sudden
illness or last minute changes to our wrestling room availability which does happen on occasion…especially during the
summer months. The reason we can keep training fees so affordable is because we rent out our wrestling rooms instead
of owning commercial real estate and training facilities. The draw-back is that on rare occasion the floors in the schools
are being waxed or the school is closed for other reasons and we must cancel. In these rare instances, we will notify you
by phone and email as soon as possible. Many months include 5 workouts and these extra sessions come at no cost to
our students. This allows us some flexibility for such last minute emergencies, hassles, cancellations, inconveniences,
etc.

Snow day consideration: If the school at which we are scheduled to practice has a snow cancellation or early dismissal
that day, then practice will be cancelled and no phone calls will be made. Please check all school closings when in doubt
or call Phil Nowick at 303-725-2493 if you have questions. Most of the time, the weather and roads clear off nicely but the
school’s policy is NO building usage for after hours activities. If the school we train at is closed, we have no practice! No
exceptions.

XII. What about burnout?

We all need a break from time to time and we have found that a month off the mat can do wonders. However, once that
month turns into two, three, four...that’s when we cease to either close or widen the gap over our opponents. Even with
the busy summer athletic schedules that some of our athletes take on; it is necessary to train once per week. Simply
putting in two hours a week in the off-season cannot cause burnout for anyone that is serious about excelling in wrestling.
In fact, that one workout per week tends to keep us focused on the goals that were set months ago! Nothing causes
burnout like getting beat, and we have yet to see a National Champion or State Champion quit wrestling. Winning is fun.
We have, however, seen many kids get discouraged and quit after continuously falling short of their goals. We also see
Jr. High and High School kids quit after having put 6-8 years into wrestling only to get pinned 12 times on JV their
Freshman season. Also, we have NEVER had a wrestler place in Nationals that took the summer off - our sport has
become too competitive to allow for “in-season” training only. In addition, you have to have fight in order to compete in
wrestling…it is a combative sport. Just watch UFC or PRIDE fighting and see who is winning all the fights (wrestlers)!
Our kids get on the mats during off-season time and get to fight 1-2X per week. If you aren’t getting into fights (live
wrestling) with GOOD opponents, then you will become soft.
Warnings

   1. Purler Wrestling Academy is not for those searching for a quick fix…We are not miracle workers. You must make
a commitment to wrestling, to yourself, and to the program in order to excel. We are confident that we can make
a tremendous improvement in any wrestler that makes the commitment to Purler Wrestling Academy. It takes
more than a month or two to achieve the same type of results as our top-performers have achieved. Success at
anything is not that easy and life doesn’t work that way. We do not believe in secret moves, magical coaching
techniques or foolproof, pre-match motivational speeches. We also know that those making the most sacrifices in
life are less willing to let opportunity slip between their fingers. Disciplined people search for ways to be
successful while weekend warriors search for ways not to lose.
   2. Every workout will not be a career-altering experience. You may not always like the techniques/positions we are
studying. Stick in there, we will cover a lot of territory over the course of the year and YOU WILL BENEFIT.
   3. You will not always have National Champions and All-Americans to work out with as it all depends on your size,
age, and timing. Some weight classes in our rooms are loaded while others are not. We are on a mission to get
our kids prepared to compete on the National-level. Your son will have intense, focused, and competitive workout
      partners to train with.

Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
FOUNDATION WRESTLING
We encourage you to also visit www.foundationwrestling.com . FOUNDATION WRESTLING is Nick Purler’s DVD series
that he originally developed for training the students at Purler Wrestling Academy. Basically, if you look at wrestling for
what it’s worth, moves are a rather small part of it when it comes to winning. Purler Wrestling Academy often has kids
that go from ZERO TO HERO in just one season because FOUNDATION WRESTLNG teaches kids HOW TO
WRESTLE…not just a bunch of moves. FOUNDATION WRESTLING offers the wrestler a 3-step process to winning in
wrestling and teaches what Nick Purler terms the “4 pillars to successful wrestling”.

                                         Wrestling taught…wrestling simplified

Introducing the FOUNDATION WRESTLING SYSTEM VIDEOS

Winning in wrestling as a competitor and coach revolves around 4 key areas…4 pillars. You will learn that mental
preparedness / match readiness, positioning, hand-fighting skills and technique (CORE techniques) make up the
FOUNDATION to successful wrestling.

What is FOUNDATION WRESTLING?
It is an approach to training developed by Nick Purler (former All-American for Oklahoma State University) in order to
more effectively train his students at Purler Wrestling Academy…which operates in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas.
Purler Wrestling has helped produce 100’s of State Champions and many National Champions.

Foundation Wrestling explained:
Successful wrestling depends on much more than knowing a list of moves. In fact, as you will discover, success on a high
level often times has little to do with which wrestler knows the more moves. The FOUR PILLARS to successful wrestling
are as follows…and in this order:
· Mental approach to competition- It has often been said that wrestling is 90% mental, but only a handful have
taken the time or figured out how to teach their wrestlers to perform. If you wrestle better in practice than you do
in matches, then FOUNDATION WRESTLING is for you. I have diagnosed THREE areas / obstacles that hinder
the performance of all wrestlers and will share with you my strategies on how to clear these hurdles.
· Positioning- Once again, we have all been to camps and been told that positioning is more important than
moves…but nothing follows those words except for a bunch of moves. Foundation Wrestling System
TEACHES the key points of positioning in the 5 fundamental POWER POSITIONS to wrestling. If you’ve ever
watched high-level NCAA or Olympic wrestling, you have probably noticed how low scoring the matches are.
The truth is that these wrestlers know every move in the book but the reason these matches are so low-scoring
has nothing to do with their lack of wrestling moves, but more to do with their opponent’s SOLID positioning skills.
Hand-fighting– Foundation Wrestling teaches that there are 5 key ways to break your opponent’s stance (HIS
positioning) to set up scoring opportunities. They are: Push / Pull / Hit / Pick / Pass
Simply stated, being aggressive means ATTACKING YOUR OPPONENT’S STANCE…NOT SHOOTING. In baseball, we
learn to ‘be patient’ or ‘wait for a good pitch’. In wrestling, we are most often taught to “SHOOOOOT, SHOOOOOT!” This
leads to sloppy wrestling and unsuccessful wrestling. You will learn a controlled attack, wear-and-tear philosophy to
opening up your opponent for scoring opportunities.
Technique- The FOUNDATION SYSTEM to the technical side of wrestling revolves around CORE techniques in
COMMON positions of wrestling. I have done all the legwork and provide you with a recipe of WHAT TO DRILL, HOW
TO DRILL, and HOW TO TEACH IT. Your goal is to win quickly and my system of techniques will focus you as a coach
and wrestler and FORCE you to spend time on what works.
Just as in weight training where 85% of your strength will come from a handful of CORE lifts, winning in wrestling
comes from a handful of techniques in each CORE area of wrestling. I have laid it all out for you and will teach
you each skill ‘in steps’ so that you can easily learn and easily teach each skill in an efficient manner. I have
designed a ZERO TO HERO technique system for you to take and run with.
