Dear Parents,

So finally the wintry weather arrived! The pupils have coped admirably with the excitement and
restrictions that the snow brings.

Thank you to all who organized and supported the Friends of Ripley School Quiz last Friday night.
Thanks to Mrs Langley and Mrs Harrison for being such great quiz masters. Mrs Rainey and I were on
the same team and were amazed at each other’s knowledge… I think it came as a disappointment to the
Ryder’s and Atkinson’s too!!

Bewerley Park
Thank you to all those who attended the meeting on Monday about the forthcoming residential. Whether
you were there or not, if you have any queries at all, please do speak with Mrs Langley or myself.

The School Building
We ask that, unless the weather is bad, pupils do not enter the school building before school. The on-
going exceptions to this will be for pupils wishing to use the toilet or to hand in medicines or musical
instruments. Pupils in Mrs Rainey's class can change reading books. However, if Mrs Rainey's room is
being used for a meeting we ask that reading books are changed at another time.

Parking Outside School
We are concerned that vehicles are being parked on the hatchings outside school. We ask for your help
in this. We have contacted our Police Community Support Officer to monitor this.

Friends of Ripley
Many thanks go to all who attended and organised the Quiz Night. A brilliant night was had by all.
Congratulations to the winning team and thanks to our Quiz Masters Mrs Langley and Mrs Harrison who
did a great job . We raised a very respectable £400 which will go to supporting school in their
forthcoming projects.

Safer Internet Day
This week saw ‘Safer Internet Day’. An extremely useful video has been released by the Child
Exploitation and Online Protection Centre for parents. It is 25 minutes long and has a range of
participants, including Professor Tanya Byron and a senior executive from Facebook.
You can find it at .

Family Service
Reminder will be holding our next end of term service at the church tomorrow at 9.30am. You are most
welcome to join us.

Enjoy your half term break.

Yours sincerely

James Pynn
