12   YELLOW JACKET BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM ON
13   CAPTURING THE CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP,
14   RECOGNIZING THEIR REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT OF
15   REMAINING UNDEFEATED ALL SEASON AGAINST
16   SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOLS AND WINNING SEVERAL
17   TITLES IN THEIR SPORT, AND WISHING THEM MUCH
18   SUCCESS IN FUTURE SEASONS.

20   Whereas, the Fort Mill High School Yellow Jacket boys cross
21   country team won the Class AAAA State Championship following
22   a remarkable undefeated season against South Carolina schools;
23   and
24
25   Whereas, the Yellow Jackets posted an impressive record this
26   season by placing fifth in the Nike Team National Southeast
27   Rankings and winning both the Region Championship 3-4A and
28   the York County Championship; and

30   Whereas, their winning season on the local, state, regional, and
31   national level are a testament to the team’s dedication, talent, and
32   teamwork; and
33
34   Whereas, the team is comprised of David Willis, Mark Blackmon,
35   David Huckaby, Travis Owens, Josh Mabry, Daniel Kalshoven,
36   Jon Kawakami, Ryan Fielden, Jarred White, and Kevin Coleman.
37   The team was lead to victory under the helm of Head Coach Scott
38   Barefield and Assistant Coach Marc Pyrc; and
39
40   Whereas, cross country racing requires individual strength,
41   endurance, and speed, of which the 2006-2007 team was filled.
42   The Yellow Jackets were able to have an outstanding season

 1   ending in a Class AAAA State Championship because of their
 2   amazing talent, dedicated teamwork, and unwavering commitment
 3   to excellence. Now, therefore,
 4
 5   Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
 6
 7   That the members of the House of Representatives, by this
 8   resolution, congratulate the Fort Mill High School Yellow Jacket
 9   boys cross country team on capturing the Class AAAA State
10   Championship, recognizing their remarkable achievement of
11   remaining undefeated all season against South Carolina schools
12   and winning several titles in their sport, and wishing them much
13   success in future seasons.

15   Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
16   Head Coach Scott Barefield, and the entire team and staff of the
17   Fort Mill High School Yellow Jacket boys cross country team.
