Job Title: Mental Health Worker

Description of Duties: Under general supervision, provides training and support services to persons with
mental retardation in a program which includes working with consumers to include CLS/Community
Access Individual. Must maintain accurate current Medicaid waiver records and complete all required
paperwork to include Medicaid billing. Must be able to compose narrative statements for billing purposes.
Maintains good communication with individuals and family. Teamwork with other staff to provide the
highest quality MRDD services to consumers is essential. Initiates educational training for adults.
Performs routine housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned in order to maintain safety regulations
for CARF. The primary hours for this position are nights and/or weekends.
COMPUTER SKILLS ARE REQUIRED! Hours are not guaranteed and based on
consumer demand.

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of high school or GED and one year experience providing care for
developmentally disabled persons or 6 months experience providing social, direct care, or work activities
to groups of special needs individuals or completion of three college level courses in the area of special
education, physical disabilities and psychology. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must have
a good working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office, Internet navigational skills, fast
and accurate typing skills, and other basic computer knowledge. Good record keeping skills. A valid
GA driver’s license (Class III drivers license is preferred). Dependable transportation to use for work daily
(proof of vehicle insurance). CPR/First Aid certification (provided by employer).
A motor vehicle report and criminal background report is required at time of interview.

THIS JOB REQUIRES WORKING FLEX HOURS INCLUDING EARLY MORNINGS, EVENINGS,
HOLIDAYS, AND WEEKENDS. It is an hourly position and carries no benefits.

upon appointment.
