[A pair of brothers looks for a male student and his family. The brothers approach the
student/family]

Brother One: Hi, my name is __________ and I’m part of the (insert college
here) Welcome Week and Move-in Committee.

[Brother One steps forward and shakes hands]

And this here is my friend ____________.

[Brother Two steps forward and shakes hands and says hello]

Can we go ahead and help you with your move-in? What can we
                      carry and/or unload for you?

Student/Parents: Oh that would be great. We have some boxes to unload from the
                      car.

Brother One: OK, well you tell us what we can unload and where to go and we’ll
                      take care of the rest.

[Brothers leave room and follow to car or hallway. While walking, Brothers should
engage in small talk with student/parents.]

Brother One: So, where are from? Where’s home?

                              [Student/Parents Response]

Brother Two: What you brought you to (insert college here)?

                              [Student/Parents Response]

Brother One: What classes are you taking this semester? Have you declared a
                      major already?

                              [Student/Parents Response]

[Continue with small talk while moving student into their room.]

Brother One: Well, is there anything else we can help you with?

Student/Parent: Oh no, you’ve been great. Thank you so very much.
Brother Two: Well, we’re going to continue to help others so don’t be afraid to
               ask us for additional help.

Oh, by the way, a bunch of us are getting together later for (insert
event here) and we’d like to invite you. Let me go ahead and get
               your name and number again.

Brother One: Yeah, we’d be glad to swing by and give you a ride later since the
campus is new to you (or large) and it’s easy to get lost.

Student: OK, here you go and thanks again.

Brother One: Well, once again, welcome to (insert college here) and we’ll give
               you a ring later.

Brother Two: Take care and it was nice to have met you.

                                    End

Student/Parents: Thank you for the offer but I think we’re all set.

Brother One: Wow, it looks like we’re a little late and you’ve already moved
most of your stuff into your room. You must have moved in early
since the welcome committee suggested we arrive about this time.

                              [Student/Parents Response]

Brother Two: Well, we’re going to be in the complex helping others move in so
if you need help with anything do not hesitate to ask.
