The Linn-Mar Booster club is havin a clothin sale this Saturday 9/15 from 9-12noon in the HS commons.
The Lazy Lion Lounge Coffee Shop is looking for students who would like to help out before school and during
first block. For details, see Mrs. Semler in Room KL102.
Anyone planning on bringing a date to the Homecoming Dance that is NOT a Linn-Mar student must pick up a
Date Request Form from the main office. This form needs to be completed and returned before Sept 27 in order
for your date to be approved to come as a visitor to our dance. Please give yourself enough time.
Arts and Clubs
If you were not able to attend the Speech meeting, please see Mr. or Mrs. Fr sometime this week.
Model UN member, there will be a Model UN meeting on Thursday at 8am in rm E133. See Mr. Gehrls for
ATTENTION FBLA members attending the State Fall Conference….there will be an important meeting on
Tuesday morning Sept 18 at 8am in F162. Room assignments, departure time, return time, conference
activities, and conference dress code will be discussed. Read the message from Mrs. Larson on your school
There will be a Science Club meeting this Thursday (09/13) at 805 in Mrs. Blakely room 142. We will be
discussing upcoming events.
Art will be meeting Thursday morning this week at 8 am in rm D122 for artistic journals! If you weren't able to
attend the informational meeting please plan on attending this event to begin creating an artist journal and find
out more about art club. Questions? can't attend see Ms. White.
Interested in being a part of the Science Quiz Bowl Team? Come to a meeting at 8:00 this Thursday in Mrs.

The yearbook staff has extra yearbooks from the 2000, 2002, 2005, 2008 & 2009 school years. They will be
sold for the discounted price of $10. If you are interested, please pick up an order form in the main office.
9th boys golf will met Xavier at Twin Pines at 3:15. Team dismissed at 2pm
LMTV has confirmed that the 1600 The Zone, Mount Mercy Tailgate Tour will be making a stop HERE on the
Linn-Mar Campus! The tailgate tour comes complete with fabulous free prizes from area merchants. (Gfx) The
tour van, and various other vendors, will be set-up outside of door 10, that’s the gym door, right after school on
Friday, September 14th-- the night of our big football game against Washington. ((gfx ends)) You might even
get the chance to be a radio star. The Zone will be broadcasting LIVE from our campus. Check it out, Friday

to make sure that you have a green dot on it. If you come to an event and do not have the green dot is not
on your ID, you will have to pay for the event. See Pam in the Attendance Office as soon as possible if

A representative from Capri College will be in the counseling offie on Friday Sept 14 at 10:30.
A recruiter from the US Marine Corp will be in the lower commons on Thursday Sept 13 during all 4 lunch
Attention sophomores: All tenth grade students are invited to take the Plan test which is scheduled for October
15th at 8:00am to 12:00. Taking the PLAN® test in 10th grade is a great way to prepare for the ACT and helps
students get ready to succeed in college and beyond. Interested students need to bring $17 and sign up in the
guidance office by Oct.12th.
Juniors and Seniors: Over the course of the next month or so, at least two dozen Colleges and Universities will
be visiting Linn-Mar hoping to visit with any of you who might be wanting to find out more about their
institutions. So if you are still undecided on where you want to go after you graduate, and who has the best fit
for you, take advantage of this opportunity. Just listen to the announcements daily, or check the Bulletin Board
across from the counseling office for a list of who will be here when. Come to the Counseling office on that
day and pick up a pass to come in for a visit. It’s that easy!
Are you planning ahead for life after Linn-Mar? On November 15, the College Planning Center will be here at
7:00 pm for "College Planning Night," a great opportunity for students and parents to listen and have their
questions answered! This is a change of date, as September 12 was originally listed. They will also be here on
February 7 at 7:00 pm for a "Fill in the Form" presentation on financial aid and completing the FAFSA form.
Don't miss your opportunity to do a fall job shadow this year! All sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible.

Juniors or seniors interested in international study should consider the Rotary Youth Exchange program. For

Looking for a worthwhile way to spend your time helping others? Do you have a special flair in certain subject
areas? Then stop by the counseling office and complete an application to be a Linn-Mar Student Tutor! If you
were a tutor last year, please complete a new form for Ms. Griswold. If you are new to this and have questions,
please see Ms. Griswold for more information. It's a great way to earn CORDS hours!
Are you needing additional assistance in a class? Your #1 resource is your teacher, but if you feel additional
support would help, please fill out an application to get a tutor. Forms are available in the counseling office and
you may see Ms. Griswold if you have questions.
