Enabling us to do our best

At St. Margaret’s we do our best to ensure that every child can develop to the best of their
potential.

We understand that a disabled person is someone with a physical or mental impairment which
has a substantial long term adverse affect on their ability to carry out normal day to day
activities.

We have considered the physical and curriculum barriers which may hamper pupils learning and
also the accessibility of the school for pupils, staff and visitors.
This plan sets out the necessary steps to address this and to ensure that neither pupils nor staff
discriminate against disabled people in school and are aware of their needs in the wider
community.

Information data:
Audit – health and safety audit/ physical environment audit / comments from West Kent dyslexia
association April 2006
Reflection of numbers reflects DDA disability definition
Participation of disabled children in school life
Future needs for disabled children

Governors – are aware of their statutory duties- reference to minutes from PPP committee
which has considered physical access and admissions policy elements.
C and P committee minutes show awareness of and considers curriculum access issues.

Consultation Involvement
