							                                                 POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: Cashier – Canton Campus

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Bursar and in close communication with the Student Financial
Services’ Unit as a whole, the Cashier is responsible for performing cashiering and customer service duties in support
of the college’s student financial accounting processes.

Candidates should be able to effectively work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, team-based environment while
maintaining a very high level of customer service with students and colleagues with accurate precision to
detail. The candidate will be primarily housed at the Canton Campus but may be asked to work at other
campuses as necessary.

MAJOR DUTIES:
      Processes student payments.
      Provides customer service to telephone callers; receives payments and provides information concerning
        student accounts.
      Processes return check, parking ticket, and online transcript payments and charges.
      Issues refunds to students using credit cards.
      Assists students using the CTC OneCard refund option, including HigherOne communications,
        corrections, card reorder, identification validation, and password reset.
      Assists students with all aspects of the HigherOne / CTC OneCard process.
      Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
       Read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of
         high school or equivalent.
       Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually
         associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to
         two years.
       Ability to be bonded.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (In addition to the minimum qualifications)
      Higher education coursework in a business-related field
      Experience working in an accounting or financial aid office at an institution of higher education

SALARY/BENEFITS: $25,366.62 annually. Benefits include: paid holidays, annual leave, and the State of Georgia
Flexible Benefits Program.

 JOB SUMMARY

 SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

      The Bursar assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed
      work for compliance with instructions and established procedures, accuracy and the nature and propriety of
      the final results.

 GUIDELINES

      Guidelines include the Employee Handbook and supervisory instructions. These guidelines are generally clear
      and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.

 COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK

         The work consists of related customer service and cashiering duties. The need for accuracy contributes to
          the complexity of the position.
         The purpose of this position is to receive and process student payments. Success in this position
          contributes to the efficiency of office operations.

 CONTACTS

         Contacts are typically with students, co-workers, faculty and staff, and members of the general public.
         Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to provide services.


 PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
       The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while sitting, stooping, standing and
        walking.
       The work is typically performed in an office.

    None.
