                      School Update -Ms. Sisco
I want to thank everyone for your support and assisting me with my graduate
studies at Springfield College. I learned a lot of valuable information that I will
continue to use and assist me in directing and guiding you.

Next months meeting in Feb, I plan to show up my graduate presentation on us -our
committee meetings. I really like the idea of having students oversee/run
portions of a meeting. This gives you the opportunity to first plan for
the section of the meeting, establish an agenda, and apply the
leadership qualities we are learning about

Hoped for our group to accomplish:
            (1) All the METCO students are academically successful
            and that they become involved socially within the high
            school.
            (2) Our other goal is to fundraise in order to expand the
            program’s enrichment by increasing the number of
            METCO sponsored events.
My vision is to educate students, establish future leaders, and provide
direction and guidance for METCO students.


I would like to still be considered a member in this group and we are
working together as a METCO community. I will continue to assist the group, but
members will work to get this accomplished...

I want to thank those members that have provided their 5 dollars for food. We
have ordered food, but…..there is a slight issue……and I need the groups’
assistance to determine what happens... I’ll use what we learned about last term
“Participatory Approach” People who didn’t pay… should they eat….Vote…..

                           Tutorial Concerns
By a show of hands -Who attends tutorial this term?

Who out of those people believe the will no longer is required to attend the
sessions next term because they will have all C’s or better.

During tutorial sessions I must remind you of the following
Use inside voice once you open the door to the library.

   1. There is absolutely no food in the library only bottled water with
      cover on it,
   2. Make sure you leave your area tidy
   3. No student should be left alone in the library without an adult
      supervision, (liability /be blamed for stuff)
   4. The last person must make sure the door is locked and lights turned off.

             African America Achievers program
    February’s METCO Black History Presentation
We don’t have enough time to do much for Martin Luther King
birthday. But my vision is that we present to the school something for
Black history month on an X block in Feb.

The students that are on the display/ fundraising committee with work with
the art teacher at lunch times and afterschool to make a beautiful mural that
represents us and Black History. Tomorrow at lunch- Vote @ days after school

The leadership committee members will but together a power-point
presentation on significant people of color. Not just black people, Latino,
Mexican. It should represent the population we are. Students will present the
information similar to last year. We will ask the step-team and khamari Barnes to
perform. It is my expectation all everyone will do something to support this
effort. If this is successfully achieved our shared vision- All members will be
awarded lunch on me in February.

When can I plan to show the Leadership committee members last
year’s presentation that was organized by Shayla Aguste?


         March’s Committee’s Competition Poster

Heads up the month of March’s committees’ competition posters will be
on Colleges.

I am giving students amp time, for the month of January you told me I wasn’t
considerate of your other obligations.
    Again, all members must work collectively on the poster.
    When do you want me to provide you the poster boards to each group?
    The theme is college planning
    The poster must show each members career choice, and career projected
       salary, and research on various colleges
Gift Exchange:
Each member agrees to do a gift exchange. All of us bring 5 or less gag gift for
