1… CPC Chairman’s Welcome
The Chapter Presidents Council is making great progress in this most challenging year of 2009. We are
excited about bringing 6 *NEW* Chapters aboard as of this publication date, and the **RE-Start** of another
6 Chapters. Our Chapter Development efforts – chaired by Bruce Howie ’65 (N. Georgia) will act on every
opportunity to engage our Alumni with NEW and RE-start Chapters! We are blessed with a superb team of
50 dedicated Alumni Chapter Presidents – working together – in support of our Midshipmen, our Alumni, Kings
Point and the U.S. Maritime Industry! I also thank Jim Tobin ‘77– USMMAAF Chief Operating Officer, for his
support and outreach efforts! I am also pleased to welcome the teamwork of the USMMA Parents Association
and to note the communications efforts of the USMMA Alumni Class Agents – with the distribution of the KP
Alumni News. We – TOGETHER – are making every effort to reach and inform all near 17,000 active Alumni,
our Midshipmen, Academy staff, Midshipman Parents and friends of Kings Point!
I encourage everyone to participate in the CPC Regional Events that will be hosted throughout the year. We
currently have scheduled a Northeast Event – hosted by our Central NJ Chapter - on March 3, 2009 and a
Southeast Event – hosted by our North Carolina “Tar Heel” and our South Carolina Chapters - on March 14,
2009. Please refer to the details in the following pages of this publication. We have also scheduled a Mid-
Atlantic Alumni Event on Saturday June 27, 2009 featuring the Baltimore Port Visit of our Kings Point T/V

All CPC Chapters, Alumni, Parents and guests are welcomed and encouraged to attend our USMMAAF Spring
Meeting in Baltimore April 30 – May 1, 2009. We have a great schedule of informative meetings, luncheon and
dinner speaker programs and opportunities for fraternity! Please support our Ship Passage Raffle. The
