Major Project October 2010 to May 2011
3D Snooker/Billiards Game, written in C++, utilising the OGRE graphics
engine and Nvidia PhysX physics engine.
Requirements, Analysis, Design, Implementation and Testing. All performed
under an iterative development lifecycle.
Included the creation of 3D models, materials, a user interface, and game
rules and algorithms.
63 page, 14000 word dissertation and a well-received demonstration of my work.
Second year group project November 2008 to March 2009
Designed and engineered two pieces of software with a group consisting of
eight students.
A C# game to be used on a Windows Smartphone, and a level designer to be
run on a PC; written in Java.
I was voted team leader and continued to fulfill the role until the end of the
project.
Documentation included; requirements, quality assurance, design
specification, test specification, test logs, user manual and maintenance
manual.
The project received an overall grade of 2.1, with our group performing as the
best of its kind.
Paired Programming January 2008 to March 2008
Designed and engineered a piece of software in Java within a paired
programming environment.
Software had animator/director functionality, the user could edit pixels to form
a sprite and then animate their sprite in a small movie.
Team building weekend in Gregynog November 2007
Participated in a large-scale team building weekend with over 200 students.
The weekend placed me in situations I would encounter in my professional career.
