". . . LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME AND DO NOT HINDER
THEM, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD BELONGS TO SUCH AS THESE . . . "
W E L C O M E
What a blessing it is to be able to work with your child! Our goals are
to provide a classroom full of learning, fun and love, and to ensure that
your child grows spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
Pre-Kindergarten will help to lay the foundation for a formal education.
Children will grow in their relationship with the Lord as well as learning
important social skills through songs, stories, games, art, cooking, and
role-playing experiences as they use puzzles, blocks, and other con-
Your child's daily activities, combined with your prayers, encourage-
ment, and participation will provide an enjoyable first school experi-
ence for all.

Let the teacher know if you would like to help in the classroom, attend
field trips, or help with special projects. Please do not bring younger
brothers or sisters when you come. We love having Dads and Moms
and Grandparents help! Please check with the teacher ahead of time.
Please write your child’s name on everything!

PILLOWCASE! Extra items and items too big for the
pillowcase will be sent home. (Mats may be purchased for approx. $5)
On the First Day of School
Put the following items in the pencil box:
1 pair scissors

Four-year preschoolers are expected to attend school
five days per week, whether part-time or full-time.
Class begins promptly at 8:10 a.m.
On-duty teachers are caring for students 8:00 – 8:10 a.m.
until their teacher picks them up. Children here before
8 a.m. should go to the Before-Care Room.
Send a note if your child will be picked up early for an
appt. so that we can have him/her waiting in the front
office where you can sign them out. Also, let me know if
they will be returning.
Field trip plans and permission forms will
go home several days in advance. Return
the form and money (if needed) on or
before the due date. Money should be
sealed in an envelope with your child’s
name and put inside the homework folder. Sib-
lings are not allowed to attend field trips.
Items like jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, lunch boxes,
etc. (anything that can come off their body or get sepa-
rated from them) MUST CLEARLY HAVE THEIR NAME
WRITTEN ON THEM.
All children attending Preschool are expected to be pot-
ty-trained. Preschoolers are allowed to visit the
restroom when needed, reminded to go, and given several
opportunities to go throughout the day.
Let us know if your child has any allergies! We may need
two snacks per day in the first months. Keep snacks sim-
ple & healthy – no candy. Include a napkin in each bag or
box and write “AM snack” or “PM snack“. (if needed)
Let the teacher know one week ahead of time
if you would like to bring a special birthday
treat for the class.
Pack lunches separately and mark bag clearly. Lunch may
include anything that your child can prepare themselves.
No microwave foods: lunchables or frozen dinners. On
Fridays, preschoolers may purchase ice cream from the
lunchroom with their “eagle bucks card” ($5.00)
Part-time students – will be waiting for you in the office.
It is important that you send your child’s homework
folder to school every morning and check it every night.
This is the way we will communicate.
Our preschoolers are in a classroom, not a day-
care. Your children will be learning new things eve-
ryday. Please encourage them. Each day that your
child has “Good Behavior” they will receive a stamp
on their hand. If they do not have a hand stamp,
look for a behavior note in their folder.
This will explain if there were any problems. Please
address any notes with your child quickly.
Preschool follows the same dress code as explained in the
Student Handbook. Velcro and slip-on shoes are great if
your child does not know how to tie laces. Elastic-waist
pants are fine. Girls should wear shorts under skirts &
jumpers. Belts are not necessary.
