Explain the change between the current and new policy, process or product:
A team of DCMA Boston contract specialists developed a Guidebook to instruct newer CAs,
Keystone Interns and Trainees in contract closeout and to help reduce the large number of overage

SP Purpose (Explain what could be accomplished by implementing the SP):
The guidebook augments the One Book requirements and provides additional guidance in such
areas as: Simplifying the closeout process from the point of contract receipt and review; Reasons
for contracts closing or not closing listed by contract type; Canceling, Expiring Funds information;
Quick and Early closeout procedures; Solutions for problem closures. This Guidebook gives the
functional specialist step-by-step instructions from several well respected and experienced Contract
Specialists. It brings information about closeout and MOCAS together in one concise document

The current DCMA Contract Closeout Guidebook is being updated and some of information in the
DCMA Boston Closeout Guidebook is being incorporated into this document. DCMA Boston
Guidebook will become a link in Contract Closeout One Book chapter.
