As a dedicated and motivated student, I strive to better myself daily by acquiring new knowledge and skills. Animal
training and behavior is my passion and I am eager to graduate from the Exotic Animal Training & Management
(EATM) program and begin applying the knowledge and skills that I have acquired. My communication skills, work
ethic, attention to detail and dedication to the advancement and care of animals will allow me to tackle any challenge
and achieve success.

In addition to completing the required coursework, the EATM program provided me a “hands on” learning
environment with exotic animals. I have gained experience in the following areas:
Animal husbandry (I had responsibility for several animals, seven days per week.)
Outreach and education about animals to local schools.
Production of animal shows for the general public at the Moorpark Zoo. I have served as the
show supervisor, emcee, animal handler, stage manager and sound booth manager.
Proper nutritional care for a variety of animals.
Minor veterinary tasks, including injections and first aid.
Transportation of animals.
Manager of Hoof Stock Department, Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Camp Verde, AZ 2006-2008
My primary responsibility was supervising 2 animal handlers and animal husbandry of the hoof stock. I also
performed the following duties:
Conducted tours of the hoof stock habitat with groups of 50 -75 people, 4-8 times per day.
Minor veterinary care.
Assisted with major veterinary care.
Habitat management and construction.
Conducted reptile shows.
