Ballet Pedagogy, University of Oklahoma Biographic Information Jessie Dolezel began training in classical ballet at the early age of seven. She was blessed to be a part of the Christian arts movement throughout her training, dancing in the ministry production “The Bride” and pursuing multiple ministry opportunities through MetroSchool of Fine Arts in Oklahoma City and training with the premier Christian dance company Ballet Magnificat! Jessie continued her training at the School of Ballet Oklahoma where she had the opportunity to perform in productions of Romeo and Juliet, America! a tribute to those affected by 9/11, and The Nutcracker. As a student of the University of Oklahoma, School of Dance Jessie performed with the Oklahoma Festival Ballet in Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, The Nutcracker, If It Ain’t Baroque Don’t Fix It, Swan Lake, and others. She has had the privilege of working with artists from some of the premier dance companies in the U.S. and abroad including Marjorie Grundvig of the Boston Ballet, Charmaine Hunter of Dance Theatre of Harlem and Broadway’s The Lion King, Dennis Poole of the Houston Ballet, Galina Solovieva of the Bolshoi Ballet, and artists from the Kansas City Ballet and Tulsa Ballet Theatre. Jessie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy and went on to pursue her love of teaching with Victory School of the Arts in Bethany Oklahoma until the summer of 2007, when God called her to Oral Roberts University to teach a new generation of faith filled dancers. Jessie currently performs with the Living Water Dance Company.
