_ Treatment process units Fine screens, grit chambers, primary sedimentation, activated sludge plant with nutrient removal, effluent storage tanks, sand filtration, UV-disinfection, mechanical waste activated sludge thickening, gravity primary sludge thickening, anaerobic sludge digestion, sludge dewatering with centrifuges, gas storage and use in combined heat and power plant (gas-motor). Job Description Duration of employment _ limited to max 6 years Reports to _ General Manager Supervises _ Operational Superintendent _ All operation shift and non-shift personnel _ Laboratory staff _ Cleaners Duties and responsibilities _ Act as Deputy General Manager (leave application) _ Management of personnel and daily operations of plant to maintain optimum operational conditions and results. Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities. _ Organise a sufficient gathering of all operational data, analyse and monitor then and create appropriate reports to Berlinwasser Headquarter and WMA _ Oversee personnel needs of the operational department including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provide input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. _ Supervise planning, scheduling, assignment of all operational tasks and work at the wastewater treatment and sludge treatment systems. _ Supervise requisition of all operational supplies, materials and equipment in accordance with the Company approved purchasing policies

Prepare operational department budget and long-term investment measures in close co-operation with the General Manager Supervise the plant laboratory Supervise and manage all staff in the operational department
Job requirements _ Recognised academic qualification (graduate in Civil or Chemical Engineering with specialisation in wastewater treatment process and plant functioning) _ At least 10 year working experience in wastewater treatment plants, should have adequate experience and knowledge of operating wastewater treatment plants with full scale biological treatment process, like activated sludge process, nutrient removal, anaerobic digesters, biogas recovery and energy production. Fully conversant with the hazards of wastewater treatment plants _ Computer literate (MS Word / Excel / Access / Power Point) _ Excellent English language skills Gross Salary _ _ 60,000 MUR (equivalent 2,000 US$) per month Apartment will be provided.
