    Lewis T. Booker Professorship in Religion & Ethics                                             MacEldin Trawick Professorship in Psychology
    This endowed chair was established in May 1994 in honor of Lewis T. Booker, fourth             In 1973, Dr. MacEldin Trawick became the first person to endow a professorship at the

    Clarence E. Denoon Jr. Professorship in Science                                                Christian Studies Chair
    Established in 1993 by Clarence E. Denoon Jr., alumnus and former Board of Trustees            Established in 1986 through the generosity of Marcus and Carole Weinstein and
    member, this professorship recognizes scientists who also are excellent, inspiring teachers.   Gilbert and Fannie Rosenthal, this endowed position focuses attention on the study
                                                                                                   of the Judaic/Christian heritage, not only in the area of religion but also in the fields

    The chair was established in 1986 by Elizabeth Pendleton Gaines in memory of her
    husband, Dr. William Judson Gaines. Dr. Gaines taught French at the University of              Mr. Weinstein graduated in the University’s class of 1949. Mr. Rosenthal graduated in the
    Richmond from 1930 until his retirement in 1970. During his tenure he served as chair          class of 1947 and has served on the Board of Trustees since 1980; he has been an emeritus
    of the Modern Foreign Languages Department for 17 years and was named professor                member since 1999. Mrs. Weinstein is an alumna of Westhampton College and the
    emeritus of French upon his retirement. In 1953, Dr. Gaines married Elizabeth Pendleton        Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and a former member of the Board of Trustees. Mrs.
    Gaines, daughter of Dr. Robert E. Gaines, chairman of the Department of Mathematics            Rosenthal’s father also was an alumnus of the University of Richmond.

    The E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Professorship in Leadership Studies was
    established in 1989 to honor the memory of E. Claiborne Robins, the University’s
    greatest philanthropist. It is one of four Robins distinguished professorships at the
    University of Richmond. Mr. Robins earned his B.A. degree at Richmond in 1931,
    received the University’s honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 1960, and the University’s
    first Paragon Medal, its highest award, in 1986.
