     SCARLETT BELLES
      CELEBRATE 10th
       BIRTHDAY!!!!
Friday, April 27th, was a very
special event for the Scarlett
Belles - a Birthday luncheon
with everything we could want
for such a special occasion.
Reservations were accepted by
Sharon Gjersvik and Barbara
Roseanu. The registration table
was efficiently coordinated by
Ruth Kurdziel and Audrey
Collins. They sold our 50/50
raffle tickets and the lucky
winners were RuthAnn Kennedy
and Audrey Collins!
Socializing is what we do best
and everyone had a chance to
visit with other members before
our luncheon was served. Our
Queen Mum Jan Albrecht gave
a brief history of events over the
past ten years and Marie Franco
discussed our plans for a
Mother's Day Lunch at Bon
Appetit in Dunedin and Polly
Dougan filled us in on other
adventures in the coming
months.
A delicious luncheon prepared
by Chef Mik gave us choices
of Cobb Salad, Flounder
Florentine or Stir Fry of Beef
Sirloin. All were exceptional
and everyone enjoyed the
Brie/Asparagus soup along
with the triple sorbet dessert.
Of course we added our own
very special birthday cake!

Thank you Mik for the marvelous lunch and
Rosanne for our lovely decorated room
including red roses for our tables!
So, if you're going to have a real Birthday
Party you have to have entertainment and
we had the best - Louie Fortunato is no
stranger to GlenLakes events and all the
Scarlett Belles were happy to see him
again.
Everyone knows you cannot have a
birthday celebration without gifts and what
a surprise we had - every member received
a gift bag that contained a copy of the Red
Hat Society Proclamation declaring April
27th as Official Scarlett Belle Day in Glen
Lakes along with a RHS cap decorated with
glitz and glitter recognizing our 10th
Birthday. Hopefully we all will wear this
special cap to our next outing!
The Committee making this lovely event so
special was chaired by our Queen Mum Jan
Albrecht and Arrangements Chair Polly
Dougan. Thanks to all who made this day
an event to remember.
Our very next outing will be on June 11th
with an opportunity at "games of chance" at
the Hard Rock Casino. Let's hope everyone
is lucky at this event.

Twenty-eight Adopt-A-Highway volunteers have
donated their time in support of our second 2012
Adopt-A-Highway event on April 12th – resulting in
the pickup of 18 bags and an estimated 475 lbs of
litter along a two-mile stretch of US19.
As usual, the continued endorsement, by our
volunteers, of the Adopt-A-Highway mission toward
a litter free and esthetically appealing environment is
greatly appreciated while encouraging others to join
our mission by contacting Caryl Meyer

What a wonderful sanctuary so close to

see the Ford and Edison Museums as well
and a day trip to the Kennedy Space

Single Premium deferred annuities are guaranteed for 5, 7, or 10 years. Should you choose to
continue the annuity after the fifth, seventh, or tenth year guaranteed period, the minimum
rate guarantee is 1.00% for contracts issued in 2012. Interest rates effective 02/13/2012 and
are subject to change without notice. Quoted interest rates do not reflect optional liquidity
riders. If you choose to add any of the available liquidity riders the interest rate will be
reduced accordingly. Early withdrawals may be subject to Surrender Charges and Market
Value Adjustments. The IRS may impose penalties for early withdrawals from qualified plans.
